September 2022: Social house has a large outdoor dining area. The downside of the outdoor dining here in late September is that... the patio has several fire pits that are very smokey. The ash landed in the food and my eyes were burning. They lookedpretty, but did not generate much heat. I did not like breathing it, and what the smoke was doing to my eyes. I liked thecrispy half duck and flour-less chocolate cake. However, the appetizer of lobster rilette was disappointing. It was a mix ofshredded lobster and shredded celery, onions, tomatoes. It did not have much lobster flavor. Overall, it was not what Iexpected. The service was nice and attentive. The overall rating is a weak 4 stars. Read more

We both had the lobster rillette and the half duck. I didn't like the lobster dish, I couldn't taste any lobster in it although... it looked like it had lobster. The duck was a half duck which I prefer to the now common practice of just serving a duck breast. It was crispy but a little dry. There was supposed to be a bing cherry glaze but it was minimal. They have a nice outdoor spacewhich is why we came here, it's COVID safe. Read more

We were a party of 20 people, last Sunday night. Server was funny and friendly. Meals were more than good, mine in particular... was excellent. Good beer, good wine. Though what a surprise when we received our bills to see a 25% gratuity. It?s like we?re 4and paid for 5! Ridiculous! I understand we were a group, but damn it, 25% is way too much. 18% seems to be the new standard, wewould have agreed to that. Worst thing is when we made our reservation, nobody informed us of that fact. If we would, we couldhave got to another restaurant, or if we?d decided to keep our reservation, at least we?d be informed. We found it to be on theinsane side. Read more

Outstanding food, truly delicious and the service was fantastic - energetic, friendly, gracious. But something was missing in... terms of ambiance. The dining area felt disassociated from the other aspects of the restaurant. The open kitchen concept wascool, but the customer seating area felt almost fast-foodish. We were seated in the upper area by the windows. And the price fordrinks is prohibitive. I get that restaurants struggle to break even on most nights, and that the cocktails help to make endsmeet. But for our party, the $22+ price for a drink shut us down instantly. So nobody had a drink. That's a loss/loss. Isincerely wish you luck moving forward. There is obviously a great deal of talent under that roof. But I like a cocktail withdinner, so my experience ended up mildly disappointing. Read more

Stopped in for dinner after a quick day ski trip to Killington from NJ. Everything was wonderful, from the cocktails and drinks... to the starters and main courses. The highlight of our meal would have to be the grilled octopus. We decided that it was thebest we had ever had...perfect texture and flavor. The coconut sweet potatoe ravioli were also fantastic. Would definitelyrecommend and return on future trips to Vermont. Read more

Delicious food, love the grilled vegetables that accompanies the fish. Octopus was cooked perfectly with just the right amount... of sauce. Everything leaves you feeling refreshed and not heavy after the meal. Read more

One of the best dining experiences ever ... PERIOD!!! By any standard, by any location in the world, by any expectations. The... food Executive Chef Jose Valines displays is simply phenomenal. The passion, the flavors, the techniques... you would think youlanded at a Michelin starred restaurant in New York City, or Miami, or Tokyo, you name it, not in the small town of Manchester,Vermont. The service, the food, the ambiance are memorable. Thank you Social House for this beautiful dinner. Read more

My family was treated to Manchester's newest restaurant during their opening night and were not disappointed. Reservations can... easily be made by calling or through the Yelp app connected to their website. We were warmly greeted by Debbie and took theopportunity to check out the bar before being seated. The bar manager Adam welcome us and made sure that our cocktails were madeto order, using fresh ingredients. At the table Zach and Alex provided suggestions and delivered our food from the kitchen. Thesmall plates were excellently prepared and amazed our taste buds. Dessert was also amazing. We can't wait to go back again formore great conversations and delicious food. Read more
