Had never had Jamaican food before. Renee the waitress/hostess was AMAZING!!! Sat down with me at the booth and went over the... menu. Gave me suggestions that were her favorites. Jerk pork and the Mac and cheese was very good. Pork was served hot offthe grill and still juicy which is hard to achieve. My husband and I passing through and decided we wanted oxtails. Food was delicious and cold. Not the type to complain about food... at restaurants because I don't know what would happen behind closed door if I asked for hot food so I ate it anyway but theoxtails and cabbage was definitely cold. Relocated from Miami for a short stay and decided to take a ride out of DC to try this spot. I am glad I made the trip. The... service by Barri, the chef, the bartender were excellent. Trust me when I say you must come a dis restaurant fi the food, musicand overall vybes. Ordered the curry chicken with plantain white rice. I had to order seconds because it was so good. Thedrink,Jamaican sunrise, hit the spot for the ride back to DC. I?m a dessert man so I like my rum cake, but decided to try a tingand got the sweet potato cake, not pie, yes Cake. What a surprise. Flava! Flava! Flava! That?s all i can say!! If you like the heat or if you like it sweet? scrumdidilyumtious!!!!! This is 2... orders 2 days in a row! First was dark meat grilled chicken that packed a subtle to fiery kick, and they doesn?t skimp out onthat delicious grill flavor!! But i have to say that those veggies were incredible!!!! So today i ordered 3 sides of theveggies, plus just ale cart of delicious veggie sides? drool. (Rice, plantain, mashed potatoes, veggies) those mashed potatoesthough? drool!!! topped them with sweet chili chicken wings? drool. After eating all that i was highly energized and slightlyhyper. On any other day, I will usually give this place a 5 but today, they definitely deserve a 1. I ordered chicken tenders for my... children and instead got burnt chicken nuggets. I called the restaurant and was told since I can't come up there, then there wasnothing they can do about it. I had the food delivered in the first place because with the snow, I could not move. Ordered online to avoid the customer service that Yelp and Google reviews were talking about. A coworker from Jamaica referred... me here and even added himself that tho the food is good the service is bitter. We did a group order and another co-workerpicked it up and confirmed that the waitress is indeed as exactly what the reviews say she is. But the food was delicious andhearty. My husband and I were visiting the area and wanted some Jamaican Food so we googled searched and this place had good reviews so... we decided to try. The place was big with a full bar and nice seating area. The decor was nice- all Jamaican theme and colors.The waitress was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the food choices and gave great recommendations. The food wasdelicious. We had the oxtails in gravy- curry chicken, plantains, cabbage with vegetables, homemade mac and cheese, beefpatty, Sangria and a house special. A ton of food in a big portion.
