This was a great experience! My wife and are a geeks, so we went here to celebrate our anniversary. We had a Lord of the Rings... themed meal with the Lord of the Fries appetizer, the Hobbit burger, and the Misty Mountain Mead. All of it was hot withgenerous portions and really hit the spot. There are also several board games and card games available. Plus, the tables havecup holder adapters to keep your drinks out of the way of your games. I had heard great things about this place but tonight was the first time I actually went in. I?m ashamed I waited so long! My... fiancé and step son had an absolute blast. They are hundreds of games for all kids of people. None of us are very good at boardgames and even we found a game we loved. Came for my friends bday and had a blast. Was nice to see all the amazing games as well as the sheer amount of different games... they had. First time trying this place and had a lot of fun! We mentioned it was our first time and they told us what games we could... choose from as they were showing us to our table which was nice. Both food and drink menu options were plentiful and I settledon the Dragon Burger and Elixir of Youth. Both were tasty and worth getting again. I'd opt for a different side though as theregular fries were just meh. Tater tots seemed to be the best of the table. Burger was a bit pricey at $15 but the qualityseemed to justify most of it. Only thing is that it took 45+ minutes for us to get our food after ordering. Granted it was onFirst Friday so they got busier right after we arrived. Fun place for a date or a group of friends to go out! With an interesting and fun drink menu there is something for everyone. We... visited to playa new game and did after a couple rounds of a familiar one we don't own. Enjoyed the poutine and chicken fingerswhile we played and enjoyed our drinks.my mocktail was spicy and sweet - perfect for an afternoon of munchies and game play. Why4 stars instead of 5? The Crossroads is a cool place where you can grab a bite to eat, order some drinks and play a huge variety of board games or... card games. The atmosphere is very comfortable and a lot of opportunities to engage in discussion or play game with other peoplethere. John Hornberger, the owner, came over several times and checked on us. Asking about what games we were playing and whatwe thought or how our service was. We were glad to see the owner interacting with the customers. The drinks were great and sowas the food. Read more
We stumbled upon here when a restaurant we?ve been to before let us down (again) and I?m glad we did! There are tons of games... you can play before/while/after food. A lot of games. One of the owners served us, he?s super personable and took time toexplain everything. The gamer spin on everything is a fun touch. A lot of their fare is done in house or sourced locally(keeping it in the community is a perk :) ). Our food was awesome. We?re pleased. Since they do encourage games they are totallyaware that you may be here longer than an in-and-out dinner. We didn?t do a lot of games, just one, but at no point did we feelrushed, never saw them rush others either. Definitely recommend. We?ll be back as we come through the area. Read more
