Menu for Gino's Trattoria in Mahopac, NY

Ate here many years ago. Just moved back to area, and decided to give it a try for dinner tonight. My husband enjoyed his... chicken dish he had. My salmon over spinach dinner would have been better if it wasn't swimming in a lemon sauce, which was morelike almond salmon in soup. Bread tasted like it had been lying around for awhile. Not very fresh. Portions were plentiful, andprices reasonable. Waitress Nicole was an awesome server! She made it a lovely dining experience in spite of the food. Wouldhave considered trying place again, except for owner who was as gracious and welcoming as a rock. She would benefit takingpersonality lessons from our waitress. We were the only ones left in restaurant, and prior to that, only a few other dinerswere there. She walked by our table at least 3 times. Not a smile, hello, NOTHING! Didn't even look at us. Guess she doesn'tneed the business enough to be welcoming to customers. Sticking with what we know. We'll stick to Prato in Carmel. Food isgreat, and owner as well as staff is warm and inviting. Guess Gino regulars don't require much in the way of customer service. Read more

Food is fine. Service is really terrible... maybe they shouldn?t hire so many 16 year olds to take orders and ?not make... tickets?...what is the point of calling ahead if it?s not going to be made??? Read more

I have been coming to this place for years. Unfortunately they have gotten complacent and the service has declined drastically.... The last few times I have ordered from here they have messed up the order or ?didn?t receive the order?. There are plenty ofother Italian places in town. I will not be coming here anymore. Read more

Chef Marco is an excellent cook and teacher and brings back authentic recipes from Italy. I have attended his classes and dined... in his fine restaurant and feel it is one of the best of its kind. Whether you choose pasta, fish, or meat you are going to havean excellent dining experience. I love the grilled veggie pizza and my husband loves the mixed seafood pasta. Enjoy. Read more
