Possibly the best fish & chips I have ever had! Fish portion was HUGE! Batter light and crispy, very obviously prepared to... order, fresh. Dining companions had butterflied shrimp, and a gyro. All delicious! Read more

I was really looking forward to visiting here and enjoying a Sunday Roast as a taste of home despite some unfavorable reviews of... late. Unfortunately my experience was also a poor one. Our waitress seemed very flustered and asked that we chose somewhere tosit as they were ?already very busy? despite there being multiple empty tables and maybe a total of 13 people. We were servedour drinks promptly but after that ignored as we came to realize that the kitchen was really struggling. A table of around 7 hadpeople emptying their plates as new food was brought out for others, while some complained of missing items. The waitress alsomentioned aloud that one party had already left without eating due to the wait. Overall a very bizarre experience that I haven?twitnessed at any other establishment. We paid for our drinks and left. I would suggest that if 12 people is already stretchingyou too far, perhaps remove some tables for the future. Overall very disappointed and won?t be retuning. I had to leave a review because I am so very confused about the high rating. Everything we ordered had zero seasoning, not even... salt. The first thing I grabbed were the fries because I was hungry and it had no taste, then I thought maybe they forgot to addsalt but no, everything had no taste. The ?British? breakfast was sloppy and burnt so there was that flavor, with beans thatcame right out of the can, Shepherd?s pie was super greasy with no flavor, and the fish and chips had thick pieces of fish butonly tasted like grease and the fries were a combination of thick wedges and some other coated/battered fries at the bottom thatlooked like leftovers. And like another review said the mashed potatoes tasted like they just poured water on dry potato flakes, nothing else. The lack of any flavor or seasoning made us wonder, perhaps the British experience is supposed to be taking thefood home and seasoning it yourself? I don't know, but never again. Not worth the drive or prices, and frankly would not wantthe food even if it is free. We ended up trashing everything after attempting to season it. Never have we ever had suchflavorless and greasy food, it?s very confusing. The lady there was nice, so maybe the positive reviews are based on her. Sorrybut this place wasn?t it. Total waste of money. UPDATE: Response to Owner's reply I know what black pudding is and I know burntfood when I see it and taste it. The black pudding was burnt like the toast you see next to it was too. Instead of beingdefensive with your smart comments, and blaming me for not eating my TO GO order on the spot so I could voice my opinion as youput it, keep my refund you?re offering and take it to the store and invest in some seasonings. Charming restaurant with the MOST Delicious ???? food! My husband loves the Scottish eggs. I love the savory spicy chicken... sandwich that comes with one of kind fries, as well as the crisp chicken salad with there in house made Wasabi ranch dressing nfor dessert was chocolate fudge cake (that is like a ganashe)...let's not forget about the Best service from a Delightful youngwoman and with majority of the people that work here are family n with head chef as the owner, with a sense of humor. They'llalways continue to keep you coming back for more, then you can eat. If you stuff yourself, they will be than happy to provideyou help out to the car with care ???? Read more

The place is rustic but gorgeous, and the simplicity of the food makes it delectable. There's great British food to try on every... visit! Another delicious discovery at Pengus?s Place: Fish and Chips! The fish is very tasty and perfectly moist, while theouter layer is crisp and golden. I drizzled the fish with malt vinegar, then I found that dipping it is even better. Thanks! Read more

We were a group of 3. At the hour we went wasn't busy. We ordered sausage and gravy biscuits to share. That was absolutely... yummy, I definitely enjoyed that. For my main dish I got sausage, bacon and egg "burger" but there wasn't a burger? But it wasstill good and you can never go wrong with tots. My boyfriend got the British breakfast which came with beans, fried toast, blood sausage and eggs. He enjoyed his dish. My friend for a typical breakfast eggs, sausages, bacon and instead of home friesshe did the tots as well. We would definitely come back again. Read more

If only they had English beer! If chef Pengus McPengus added beer to his menu, I might buy a home within walking distance. Sure,... the fish and chips are good but the shepherds pie is even better, and the steak pie is superb. And it?s pastry was among thebest we?ve ever had. Not easy to access (slow down and be patient) and service isn?t fast, but WELL worth the wait. There?s nobetter ?Brit food? anywhere around here. Read more
