Reviews for Pop's Biscuits, Burgers & BBQ in Maggie Valley, NC
I am a local and have finally found my place to be a regular. Pops is the kind of place where the all day breakfast is served... with a good cup a Joe and the waitresses all smile and call you "Sweetie". They absolutely nailed biscuits and gravy in thisunassuming breakfast nirvana. I think to myself, ah yes....this is it. Read more
We forego the hotel buffet for breakfast at Pop?s. Looked like a hole in the wall but you know what they say? they have the best... food. Not here! We both had fried eggs, sausage, home fries and toast. The eggs were edible. The toast was very good. Thesausage did not taste like sausage. Not sure what it was made out of but it was horrible. The potatoes were cold and simplytasted awful. They are cubed and had more black/gray spots then white or yellow areas. The waitress was a sweetheart though! Read more
Have eaten at Pop?s three times this week while on vacation. Food is phenomenal. Hubby says his Reuben sandwich was the best... he?s ever had. Breakfast portions are perfect, at least for us. You can really tell the meals are made with love. Staff isfriendly and efficient. We will be back! Read more
This was HIGHLY recommended to us by a local Maggie Valley resident so maybe my expectations were too high. ???? I thought... about trying the Shrimp and Grits, but just couldn't because of the $18 price tag. I'm local to this area, not a richtourist! Had the fried chicken breast sandwich and paid the upgrade for fries and asked for extra crispy. Longer wait for foodthan expected. When the food was delivered I was SHOCKED at how small the piece of chicken was! The fires were well done, butfewer of them than I thought there would be. Also, they have no honey mustard sauce. The fries looked seasoned, but didn't tasteit. It was just kinda bland all around. My partner's turkey sandwich with bacon had an impressive amount of sliced turkey on it,but he agreed didn't really taste particularly outstanding. We probably won't go back for $30. We much prefer The ButteredBiscuit..... and they have GREAT salads, too! REALLY wanted to love it because of Jason Momoa visiting twice, but alas! ?? Read more
When I come back down next year I?m going to stop here for lunch so I can give Pop?s a proper review? The breakfast was a... little emotional? My mother who passed away was from Baton Rouge Louisiana & her favorite breakfast was biscuits & sausagegravy? This is something I have never had when traveling down south? Today was that day & it was worth every bite!!! My momwould have approved!!! Our server forgot my son?s powdered sugar for his pancakes but she apologized and took the add-on offthe bill for us so BIG KUDOS to her! Read more
