Used to be my favorite spot :( Covington on 190 is still awesome, but the food at this 22 location has really not been good the... past several times I have gone over the past 6 months. Today I went to pick up $60 worth of food and was planning on having the$5 special margaritas - but was told that $5 special only applies to people dining in. So I paid $15 for a drink people in therestaurant paid $5 for. No big deal - the food is what we were upset about. The chicken was so charred it tasted like straightsmoke. We got one salsa for a meal for 3 people when I even paid for two big bags of chips. The rice tasted like boxed rice -the recipe must have changed because it was not good at all. We also got flour tortillas when we asked for corntortillas. Ended up microwaving our own store bought taco meat just to be able to eat the fajita sides. Really sad that thislocation has gone so downhill. I won?t waste the money again after giving so many chances. The only saving Grace at thisrestaurant is Manny whose margaritas never disappoint. I had the: Chorizeros Sausage / Grilled Chicken / Nopales / Sliced Grilled Queso Fresco Taylor had the El Pastor Burrito which... consists of Marinated Pork / Grilled Pineapple / Cilantro / Onion / Rice / Charro Beans Everything was delicious and our serverGelem was very sweet. I only had to stop Darcy from jumping in the fountain once. So all in all a great visit! Their outdoorseating area is very pretty, and tho along Hwy 22 it wasn't very loud, not that Darcy would notice... This place is beautiful and has outdoor seating. The music was on point too! The inside was gorgeous enough to be a club, all it... was missing is a dance floor. The food was great to and I'm not just saying that. I went with my companion and she has asensitive pallet. When we sat down, they brought out chips and salsa with a bean dip. The salsa was better than expected. I'mreally picky about my salsa. We both tried the bean dip and we both liked it very much. I would not have thought to get a beandip to go with the salsa and chips. I always order queso dip and it was really good also. I had the Playeros which magicallyarranged for the eyes.
