Some have got better since the pandemic, some have not. Here's to hoping for a return to form. I remember the wait being here... was long, but the last time we were there... it was terrible. And I get if you are not staffed - but at least let us know (wehave 3 kids, 2 of whom are 3.5). We were given free drinks for the wait, and one of them was undrinkable (neither me nor mywife could drink it). They asked if we wanted something else. That one we paid for. My wife didn't care - but I think its asymptom of the larger problems of cohesiveness. And my medium burger was rare... but as noted above - there is no way I amsending it back since this was already a 1+hr endeavor... Very nice place, good food. I had a brisket sandwich - tasty. Unfortunately as a solo I got a bit lost in the bar crowd but... once I had a server all was great. I would definitely visit again. Some fellow travelers who were also staying at the Tru hotelup the hill also had high praise for their experience. Read more
Stopped for lunch while visiting our daughter in Madison. A warm relaxing atmosphere and great food as well. The Smoked Brisket... Mac N' Cheese was super. Our server Terri was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. We will definitely be back nexttrip. Read more
This place is a great bar and grill! The chef has celiac and is very aware of gluten allergies. If you have gluten intolerance,... they offer GF pasta, pizza, sandwich buns and GF breading for the fried food (shared fryer). We had a wonderful meal - thebrisket was ??????????! It's amazing how much more outdoorsy Wisconsinites are! The patio looks really nice, flower pots everywhere. Not just staring at... a parking lot. The ambience was great and our waitress too. Food was great. I had the wild mushroom chicken with wild rice and a side salad. The brandy cream sauce was delicious and... paired well with the wild rice. Side salad was a good mix of greens. My son had the ultimate grilled cheese. I'm assuming heenjoyed it since there wasn't anything left. Service was OK, but I had to move plates on the table to encourage them to clearthe plates between courses. Server also didn't seem to want to be there and the personality reflected it. Read more
I love this place! They know how to make mushrooms that you will dream about. They'll knock your socks off with their Friday... fish fry with lake perch! The batter is so light and flaky. Yummmmmmm, can't wait to go back! Don't forget to get a cocktail!They do it all right! Read more
