Never had Pel’meni ( Russian Dumplings) before, so I really don’t know what to compare it to. However, a comparison is not... even relative when the product is simply unique and very tasty. You can’t beat a very delicious and filling lunch for under$12. Order the “Full order mix, double works”. You will get some delicious potatoes and ground beef dumplings doused withinsweet chili sauce , yellow mustard powder, and topped with sour cream and fresh cilantro. This is really a prime example of howsimplicity works. Boiled dumpling. Who would have thought!!! Read more

Super quaint place. It looks small when you first walk in and place your order, but there is a nice size dining area and a bar... when you turn the corner. The team working here is super nice. The food was ready pretty quickly and it was delicious. I wishthere was something like this where I live. I ordered a mixed order with the works. If I am ever back in Madison, I will bereturning to get more dumplings! Read more

I always love places that specialize in one dish, especially fast casual ones. The Pel'meni here are affordable and come out... quick. I've definitely had better and wish there was more topping/ingredient options but it was decent overall. @dietproof Read more

Cheap, delicious, and unique. One of our favorite spots to hit since moving to the area! Get the mix with the works, then use... the sauces at the table to dose your order down, nothing else you'll need. Also super cheap to go orders you can throw in thefreezer and heat up in boiling water. Can't really go wrong with whatever you order here? Read more

I found this gem on TikTok and I have to say, it wasn’t half bad. It’s a small place downtown Madison with friendly and... quick staff. The dumplings were really good and I like how you can get a mix of potato and beef. You can also choose your owntoppings for more flavor. I will say, they didn’t have as much flavor as I was hoping for. They have a huge dining room toenjoy in house as well. The portions are HUGE and really reasonably priced! Read more

Hands down, one of the best late night spots! I remember this from college 18 years ago. Different location (used to be Amy’s... Cafe), but same exact goodness. Absolutely perfect. The price hasn’t even changed much. Sirloin is better than the potato, butboth are excellent. I even bought frozen orders to take back home. Love this place!! Read more

When Paul was a wee lad he thought you himself, "How can I bring smiles and comfort to the good people of Madison, Wisconsin?"... And then a dumpling fell off a tree and hit him on the head. Eureka!! An idea was born. Paul perfected his precious pel'meni andshared his natural born gift with all who could dine at his fine establishment. The tender mouth-watering meat and potatopel'meni will bring you comfort and delight like you never imagined before. The works is a desirable addition to the meal, butis optional. A must stop restaurant when living or visiting Madison. Read more

positively surprised by the similarity of this beef pelmeni to Turkish manti. The only difference is the latter is served with... garlic yoghurt and melted butter and crushed red pepper/tomato sauce on top as in the photo (cooked by spouse). i liked the hotsauce and cilantro combination only. next time we’ll buy in bulk and boil at home.
