It is so nice when you try a new place and it exceeds expectations! Kettle Black is a charming, cozy restaurant with excellent,... excellent food. We went early and it was almost empty, but filled up by the time we left. I had the pan seared cod withchar-grilled broccoli and roasted red potatoes. The cod had a crisp delicious outside and cooked to perfection inside. Thechar-grilled broccoli was phenomenal and was so good I could have made it my main course. The potatoes were halved with a lightdelicious sauce. My wife and daughter had the chicken breast. Both said it was very good also. Read more

The Escarole and Beans dish is a flavor explosion! It’s delicious and you absolutely don’t need to be a vegetarian to enjoy... this. It brought me back to my trip to Italy where I had a similar dish in Sorrento, which was so good I ate it two days in arow. Kettle Black’s version is just as good, maybe even better. The restaurant is warm and beautifully decorated (we sat undera gorgeous chandelier). Lastly, the service is impeccable. I cannot wait to return. Read more

This was a percect spot for a date night. The atmosphere is very cozy and the food was absolutely delicious from starter to... dessert. There was a little bit of a wait which I believe I heard there was a staff shortage that night but it was well worth itand gave me and my partner time to chat between courses. I ended the night with their poached pear dessert that I highlyrecommend trying if you like pears. Read more

Small menu, but everything is delicious. Can't go wrong ordering anything of the menu. Pork shank was tender and the meat fell... off the bone. Delicious salmon and cod. Nice wine and beer selection. Small dessert menu, but, again, everything was to die for. Will be back. Read more

I was so excited to try Kettle Black Kitchen, the menu looked creative, and well balanced. I most happy to see a flat iron... steak on the menu. Arrived, had a fantastic bottle of wine and tried a few appetizers. The pate and french onion soup werefabulous appetizers. For dinner We ordered the pork shank and the flat iron steak. Everything came out looking wonderful, butit was all under seasoned and had lackluster flavor. We were very bummed. Took the pork shank home and then went down the streetand had a second dinner. This is a nice place if you have a chance to go. The people who work there are nice and wonderful. There was a bad winter... storm so I placed a takeout order that night! I ordered the sour orange pie, pate de Campagne, and the Cornish hen. Read more

Fun new discovery on Monroe street. Friends had been and highly recommend it. Love the space, simple and clean, yet cozy and... private feeling. The menu is simple and very well prices. Was really surprised to see the vines were very reasonably priced, wehad a lovely rose to kick things off. The pate and shrimp/grits was such a great way to start the party in our mouths! There isa nice smokey flavor with a tiny kick in those grits. The plate was a nice size, to some it might be small, but as an appetizer,it was perfect for 4 to share along with other apps. Had the steak and pork for the dinner. Left our plates polished. Steak wasperfectly seared and cooked. Didn’t quite care for the sweet potatoes that came with it. In a way it’s a nice salty sweetcombo, if your palate enjoys that. Had several deserts, they were alright. Not much of a sweets person, but my companions verymuch enjoyed them. Partial to affogato! Check this place out and enjoy it. Read more

Honestly, that was some of the best food and nicest experiences I’ve had in a formal restaurant in a long time! The wife ran... the front of the house and the hubby cooked - it was a heartfelt and nice dynamic! We are what I would consider “foodies”and eat many places, frequenting those that we grow to love. This is going to be one of those places for us! We had manythings - house salad, shrimp and grits, pork shank, Hen and rice, sprouts, broccoli, escarole and beans, wine and fingerlings -and it was all to die for! Our party of 6 enjoyed every bite, every sip, every laugh and every moment. Highly recommend! Read more
