I'm going to think about the meal we had at Jardin at Robinia Courtyard on Saturday for the rest of my life. I can't think of a... time when I had a meal that I would rank above this one. This place is THAT special. Now under the direction of executive chefJuan Umana -not Kyle Cozine as Googled, thank you! - (who I believe was in part responsible for one of our favorite food trucksthat I stalked throughout the early summer this year), Jardin features a globally-inspired, 100% plant-based menu. I stronglyrecommend the chickpea paneer, which has a silky, sexy curry interior and a crispy fried exterior. It is sensational. A patientof mine recommended the blue potatoes, and they were great as well. (I lost most of those to my husband.) The quesabirria isclothed in a sumptuous mole sauce and avocado crema, and inside is smoky jackfruit and grilled portobello. I thought I died andgone to Mediterranean heaven with the grilled eggplant, until the spiked sorbet and affogato came, and I realized there weremore levels to ascend. I had one of my favorite gluten-free beers (New Grist), then an incredibly cold (note: the slush on theedges) and PERFECT martini, and a complimentary Amaro Lucano aperitif at the finish. Service was wonderful... Very friendly andattentive, the meal was well timed, and we never had to ask for a plate to be cleared for for another cocktail. And even withall of that, I've had meals that cost twice as much. All vegan and gluten-free. I mean. That affogato though! We had the mostbeautiful alfresco meal here, and I think this place is world class and worth driving for (and even putting on makeup). I can'twait to go back. Read more

The atmosphere, food, and drinks here were all excellent. We sat in the courtyard which was very pleasant. We ordered several... dishes to share, so I got to try a good chunk of the menu and was impressed by everything. There was a nice variety of mushroomsfeatured in many of the dishes. It?s refreshing to see a restaurant truly embrace plant-based cooking instead of trying toimitate meat dishes. The drinks menu was extensive as well. Read more
This is the 3rd time I travel to Madison exclusively to dine at Jardin since they reopened it, and each time the experience with... the food is more amazing. Congratulations to the chef for a fantastic combination of flavors in every single dish, and theirgreat visual presentation. This time my husband and I tried the flatbread, blue potatos and garden salad (salade du jardin). All3 of them were delicious. We decided to try also the ceviche, it was great, unique, fantastic, you need to try it !! Highlyrecomend it. They brought us a complementary blackened tofu, also delicious. Lastly, the cast iron cookie with homemade icecream and flavored with local berries, amazing! We devoured the dessert. Congrats to this restaurant for the level to which theyelevate vegan food. I was tempted to write that this was the ?best vegan food? we?ve had, but I think that would do it a disservice. It really was... some of the ?best food? we?ve had, vegan or not. We had the garden salad (see photo), the yuba salad (see photo), the lobstermushroom pasta dish, and the warm oat cookie with nice cream/berries for dessert. Every dish was beautiful in presentation andhad real depth and a variety of flavors. Really delicious. You can tell the food was created by someone who puts so much care,down to the tiny details, to provide an enriching and satisfying culinary experience. I ordered a cocktail I enjoyed very muchfrom an extensive drinks menu, plus it was a nice surprise at the end of the meal to get a complimentary digestif. The servicewas superb, and the outdoor eating area (Robinia Courtyard) was a beautiful setting for dinner. We will definitely be back! Read more
Not just vegan, but actually plant-based. The service was just ok, but the food more than made up for it. The kegged mojito was... also amazing. I?ll be back to try more on the menu! So happy to have more vegan options in Madison. Read more

This is a beautiful restaurant with elegant and delicious food. And yes, it is all plant-based. And yes, all the omnivores I?ve... dined with at Jardin have loved it as much as me (a vegan ??). There are still a few small kinks in the service (dishes tend toarrive at the table less hot than ideal) but the staff is lovely, friendly and helpful. While the garden is divine during warmweather months, the inside dining is cozy with an appealing ambience. I highly recommend this restaurant! Read more
