Possibly the worst restaurant experience I?ve had. From walking in and not being greeted for 10 minutes, to waiting another 10... minutes for a food and drink menu, this place failed in every aspect. They have owned this place for 10 months and have no cluehow the flow of a restaurant goes. It took them 45 minutes to present me with a ?medium? burger that was raw in the middle.While it seemed there was a lot of staff, there was actually only one waitress for all the tables. These guys really knocked it out of the park! As someone whose been, "in the industry", for 20+ years, I feel pretty comfortable... sizing a place up. For me- these guys nailed it on ALL fronts. They have a fantastic whiskey and beer list. Every dish I havetried has been full of FLAVOR, and honestly some pretty unique flavors, at that. Salmon sandwich! All of the staff have beenfun, warm, and down to earth. I'm pretty sure I saw the owners, and it is very clear they do not hesitate to dig in and workhard right along with their staff. Love this one place. We came on a rainy Sunday and it was a great experience. Steve was our waiter and he was... excellent-friendly, informative and just a great guy. We had the soup special- broccoli and cheese-it was home made anddelicious. Next were the nachos with chicken-loved them and the chicken quesadillas-just spicy enough with plenty of chicken. Weended with the brisket and cheese grinder- just delicious. The boutique beer (Whaler?s rise ) was great and the wine was exactlyright. To sum this up, make sure you check your bill before actually paying!! Since being under new management/owners, the food is 10... times better than it has been in the past few years and we love going here, however you better check your bill before youactually pay. A few weeks ago they staff could not figure out my tab of $30 and spent ten minutes trying to fix my tab and myfriends tab who I was with, I don't know what the problem was but the staff clearly had no idea how to properly ring out a check at the bar. The next time I was there, Trish the bartender was great and we had no problems. This time that we went there, theyadded a random $7 ice cream sandwich to our dinner bill and I only noticed it because I am now privy to checking my bill at thisrestaurant, the waitress kindly took it off and I brushed it off as a fluke. Before leaving for the night my boyfriend and Iwent up and sat at the bar, he got ONE margarita and they charged him $17, after we made them aware of the situation (his cardhad already be rung), they spent ten minutes at least trying to reverse the charge and were so rude to us in the process when wewere being nothing but patient. What a unique hidden gem in North Madison next to Robert's Grocery James Madison House Bar and Restaurant is. We finally had... the opportunity to visit. I must say we had the best wings we've ever had there! I've traveled and tried some of the "bestrated" places for wings but ordered their wings as an appetizer for the family on a whim. They were cooked to perfection with amultistep, marinade, bake, and fry process. The sauces are second to none as they create their own sauces from scratch, notpremixed jarred, and boy we can tell the difference. Even my picky eater child left nothing but bone! We're so excited we don'tneed to travel far! We ended up ordering more to go. Dare I say they blow my former favorite place (since they just took thatfavorite place for wings spot) out of the water in Southington! They gave me rotten food. The lettuce was brown and mushy in the middle. I don't understand how they thought it was acceptable... to serve that to anyone. With that said, the staff was awesome, very accommodating and very sweet. Would recommend going in fora drink but I wouldn't trust the food. Read more

Don't Walk...RUN to this new Eatery! The wings and cheese board were delicious, the presentation was perfect. The burgers were... mouthwatering, & chicken sandwich was yummy. Top it off I applaud the staff, their smiles were contagious. Owners Angela &Frank (an awesome couple)took the time to speak with us & made you feel right at home. Stopped in to check out the new house & grab a bite to eat. Tried the garlic steak & cheese sandwich which was great. We sat at... the huge horseshoe shaped bar, it felt kind of like Cheers with Kris-Ann shaking it up behind the bar. Great experience. We'llbe back! Read more
