We went here twice during our last visit to Macon and plan to go again on our next trip! It's good old-fashioned comfort food... with a southern signature. Being from the mountain-west we were hoping to find that, and we did! Everything we tried was tastyand satisfying. Our only complaint would be that the fried chicken didn't travel well. It wasn't very crispy once we got back toour daughter's house. Next time we'll eat it there. Read more

This is such a cute and wonderful place to eat. Diner/Cafeteria style menus. Everyday is something different. We went on a... Thursday and it was baked chicken with stuffing and 2 sides. You won?t walk away hungry! Check it out, you won?t bedisappointed. Read more

My wife and I were passing through Macon and decided to stop here - it was the best decision we made the entire trip! Fried... chicken and sweet tea so good I nearly cried thinking about how much it tasted like my late Alabamian grandmother?s homecooking. If you get a chance, go, and don?t skip dessert either! The food here is old school country style. It is a walk through buffet. I had baked chicken, dressing, two sides, corn bread,... sweat tea, and a dessert for $13.90. Finally remembered to get a pic of that fall-off-the-bone delicious chicken. Highlyrecommend for anyone in downtown Macon. Edit: I had the baked chicken with rice. It was fall off the bone delicious. Thewaitress busting the tables and serving customers was working hard and made sure the customers had everything we needed. If youdon't have cash you can leave a tip at the register from your card. I also had to use their restroom. It is single occupancyunisex and very clean. They keep it well stocked, clean, and smelling fresh. Plus the picture hanging over the toilet is cuteand cool. Use to be great I ordered fried chicken collards and macaroni and cheese corn read and banana pudding. Let's just say I ate... all the crunchy off the chicken it was fried to hard and the meat was grey I went at 11 so I was expecting it to be fresh. Nopethe greens tasted like canned greens and the macaroni never tasted like that before I took 2 bites and was done the cornbread was super dry I was just so disappointed. I know people change but I hate their food changed it use to be so good Read more

One of the few places left that actually gives you a good amount of food for the price on most menu items. Everything we've... gotten has been very good. Classic meat and two or meat and three style plates that change daily to a weekly rotation. They havedesserts too. Parking is a little scarce around the lunch rush, but it is free parking, which is a huge plus. They have a dinein area during lunch and a take out area that is open until later after the dining room closes. They shut down for a whileduring the Coronapocalypse, but are back and still a really good place to get classic southern food. Read more
