I have been to Macon many times and tend to hit the well known restaurants downtown. I?m thrilled with my choice to go outside... of my norm! From the moment I pulled into the parking lot seeing the quaintly lit, tucked away gem, to last sip of coffeeaccompanied by the most spectacular pecan bourbon bread pudding. The menu offers an incredible mix of land and sea along with 3specials. I chose the Chilean Sea bass Niciose which I can?t sing the praises of enough. My server Justin along with other staffmembers were very attentive and their service was exceptional. This is an absolute darling in Macon and I can?t recommendenough! Read more

Great food, especially the prime rib. Huge piece and was beautifully done! It was succulent and well-seasoned (not overdone,... too). Only downside was that the mashed potatoes and green beans were too salty for my taste and knocked it down a star. Had theMoscow mule and they packed in the liquor. I also thought the tables were too close together and thought it was a bit loud eventhough there weren't many people in the room. Read more

This is a really nice restaurant. Please read the other reviews for the positives. My wife and I went in for a date night. The... place was relatively busy and the staff seemed confused. They brought us the menu second time after our order was alreadytaken. Then they brought butter without any bread. Finally they brought the bread twice. When I asked for the itemizedreceipt, a generic version with ?beverage? & ?enter 1? ?enter 2? was given to me. They took my wife?s leftover to pack it up inthe back and didn?t bring it back out until we asked for it. Read more

We visited the Back Burner for dinner over the weekend, and it was truly lovely. The food was very good, and the ambiance was... very nice, upscale but comfortable. I had one of the specials and cannot remember the name of it! It had very tender chickenbreast, mushrooms, sausage topped with a nice cream sauce, and shaved Parmesan. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, asusual for him, he likes to compare. It had a lot of other things in it, and he wasn?t nearly as impressed with his. He honestlydidn?t care for it! I will say the our waiter tried to steer him away to something else and he wished he?d listened! I ordered aCaesar salad for us to share, and our server split it between two plates even though we didn?t ask. Excellent service! It wasVERY good.. We finished with a delicious Crème Brûlée for dessert. I would have taken a picture of that, but we ate it toofast! Dinner was quite expensive, but not surprising for the quality of the food, service and experience. We would definitely goback for a special occasion! Highly recommend this place, especially if you?re looking for a romantic place for a date, anddon?t mind dropping $100 before drinks.. Reservations recommended! Read more

I had a fabulous time at the Back Burner! The food was wonderful, the service impeccable. We had reservations and was seated... immediately. The design of the seating allowed for intimate conversations in a non rushed environment. The plating andpresentation of the food was very appealing visually and the appetizer and entrée superb. Added to my favorite places for agreat meal. Read more

Excellent food. Thanks Dustin for the prompt service. Scottish salmon and seafood trio were very tasty with nice rich sauces.... The manager quickly provided information about a possible future event. Read more

The first restaurant I saw off the interstate in Macon was Red Lobster, it didn?t look great from the outside and had 3.5 stars,... so I googled restaurants close to me and Back Burner was 2 miles away. The service ( I think Dustin was the name of my waiter) was amazing, the ambience was 5 stars, and the food was incredible. I don?t spend any time in Macon, but I may drive back to eathere. It was that good. What an amazing stop! I had the Chilean Sea Bass and bread pudding and was very pleased. Read more
