Charming little place we ducked into to get out of the rain. We didn't have to wait despite being a Saturday evening, and got a... nice booth upstairs overlooking the ground floor. Signatures from past guests line the walls, and the interior has a cool vibeto it. Outside of forgetting our appetizer, the experience was nice. A favorite spot to stop while visiting Macon each year. They have amazing burger choices and the fried pickles are delicious!... I've been several times for dinner with friends and we are always greeted by the hostess. The service has always been great,too. We went with a friend with very specific dietary needs who brought her own food. They allowed her to eat her own foodwithout any issues. In addition to amazing food, The Rookery is located in an historic building, so I recommend walking aroundthe building to enjoy all the different features. My friend and I shared the burger of the month, which was a crazy garlicthemed burger, and it was probably the best burger I've had! Highly recommend those fried pickles, too! Read more
After many years of hearing about The Rookery I finally made it in. I wish I had not waited so long the food and service was... great!! I had the Rookery Burger minus the bun (I?m eating low carb now). The meat was so good and fresh you could seriouslytaste the freshness to it! My friend and I also tried out the fried pickle Spears and they where delicious. They also were notgreasy like at most places. Great atmosphere, I loved that over the years people have signed their names on the walls. I willdefinitely be going back!! Read more
Amazing atmosphere! Everyone here is beyond friendly. We had an amazing waitress Hannah and she was extremely exceptional. The... menu is very robust and unique to Macon Ga. I highly recommend any burger or the OutKast Stank. Read more
This place was FANTASTIC! Both drinks were incredible! The sandwiches were mouthwatering. The fries were killer and the service... was AMAZING. I am so incredibly sad I do not live anywhere near Macon to eat at this place again. Please eat here. You will notregret it. Read more
Heading down to the Bass Pro Shop in Macon on Saturday night and a good friend recommended us to eat at the Rookery for dinner.... Great suggestion and we really enjoyed it. Excellent service and the burgers are amazing. Britney our server was extremelyhelpful and did a great job. Highly recommend the Dr. John burger with rings! Five stars for both food and service! This was our first time here. It was a pretty cool experience. I was recommended the burger and it was very good. They had some... weird things on the menu but it was good, definitely some original ideas. The atmosphere is really cool. Over the years peoplehave signed the walls and table. I think it give character. We will definitely be back, especially if being in walking distanceto the auditorium. Read more
The food was great, especially the shakes, but the pinnacle of the experience was our server. Zach W made our dinner 100 times... more enjoyable by recommending the best foods, giving us valuable advice and overall the best service i believe I've ever had.This coupled with the fact that the food was not too expensive will make Saturday nights at the rookery a more common thing forme.
