Affordable, efficient and good tasting lunch
Nov 10, 2022: Downgraded to 1 star, the picture speaks for itself. October update, I HAVE NOW RESORTED TO ORDERING 2 take out... MEALS for just MYSELF. The pictures in my review are dine-in and reflect nice portions, so maybe plan to eat at the restaurant.An option may be to get extra vegetables and a dessert, but the price will be about the same, $11 each meal (1 meat, 2vegetables, and bread.... without the drink, desert, and tip. Prior info: Downgraded to 3 stars due to skimpy portions, tworecent instances of replacement meals, and take out blunders like failing to include my potato salad last evening. I hope toupdate this review soon after a few good experiences, but one of my family members is aggravated as well. I hope this shallchange soon. Previously at 5 stars, downgraded 2 months ago to 4 stars, and downgraded this date for omission and overcookingthe livers again. If it is as black as charcoal, adjust the frying time please! Jeneane's @ Pinebrook is still a good place tograb a meat and some vegetables, especially if you dine in. They gladly rectify any complaint. My issues have been with take outmeals. Generally, Jeneane's @ Pinebrook is a great alternative to fast food since we all need vegetables. I enjoy green beansand black eyed peas. I have never been here until I wanted to try today for me and my mother. So I did naturally what people do and told them what I... would like and the first 3 things I asked about they were out of but yet it's on the menu. So I just shot one out of the dark (a question) and they were out of it too. Horrible experience. Read more
The owner exhibits a patter of disrespect towards her employees. The back of the restaurant is filthy and their food prep... standards are low. An absolute dumpster fire of a restaurant. She plays favorites and has no problem disrespecting you even ifyou are grieving the loss of a loved one. I very much enjoyed eating here. The food's not as good as my mama's, but it's good for a restaurant. It has a large selection... of Southern food and great coconut meringue pie. Warning, they are not open on Friday or Saturday. Read more

If I was making a short list of the top 3 country food places in Macon, Jeneane?s would make the list. Not as number 1 and not... 2, but in the top 3 for sure. My last few visits haven?t been the best experience. This particular time the floor and tableswere pretty trashed and our server seemed like he didn?t really want to be there. Our glasses where placed heavily on the tableand the straws where just thrown down. I thought, hmmm maybe he just dropped them. But then the wet bread plates where thrown onthe table along with our bread. But no, really, loud clatter thrown on the table. And who doesn?t enjoy a nice wet plate to setyour biscuit on? Friendly and attentive staff. The food was hot and came out quickly, even with a packed lunch crowd. I had collards, dressing,... and mac & cheese. The collards were great, needed a little salt.
