My boyfriend and I were traveling through Macon from Florida and we decided to stop here for a late lunch. We both agreed it was... the best southern food we had had and everything we got was delicious. The fried chicken and baked BBQ chicken were a must have,as well as the green beans, collard greens, and squash casserole. I had to try this place because it was recommended by the locals. We had fried green tomatoes and bbq chicken, mac n cheese,... bake chicken, yams. Some of the tomatoes seemed fresh while the other were not so fresh. The chicken was ok, the mac n cheese was not so good but the yams were superb. Overall the food was ok . Will I go back again, no. We met two amazing people whilethere. They were very friendly, we talked and talked like we knew each other for a long time.i would go back if I knew I couldsee them there again. Read more

Always huge portions of yummy down home food. Had beef tips over mashed potatoes, green beans, Cole slaw, and corn bread today.... Peach cobbler for dessert had to be to go because I was too full to eat it there. People are so friendly too! Read more

Stopped by for a taste of Southern food - was pleased to get a serving of smiles and hospitality for free :-) Loved the chicken... tenders, rice with beans and even the cabbage which my little one wouldn't eat (but she loved the fried green tomatoes). Came here for the first time today to get dinner for my family and it was absolutely delicious! We got the fried pork chops,... baked chicken and Salisbury steak with a bunch of sides. Great little chain of ?home cookin? in a hurry. I visited this location for the first time while in Macon for an appointment.... The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The pricing is very reasonable for the area and the portions are generous.I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an alternative to hamburgers and they sell no such thing.
