This place is NOT the best This-at all. Brisket sucked fatty and no flavor needed lots of bbq Sauce even that wasn?t the best.... Potato salad and beans weren?t that good, beans were better than potato salad. Service was bad, cashier was nice you could tellhe was new he kept having to ask the other guy for answers and he was rude. My son liked liked the chicken it also lackedseasoning. Sky high prices! Don't let them cheat you. They served me watered-down side dishes. The macaroni and cheese was floating around... in water. So was the southern lasagna. And they sold me the dried up burnt edges of the meat. It was absolutely awful. It waslike gnawing on scraps of dehydrated dog treats. And because it was a takeout order, I just drove off. Big mistake. Open it andlook at it before you leave. Make sure a full serving is in the container. If you ask for a cup of tap water when you dine in,there should be no charge. Why in the world are they asking for tips when there is no service? I ordered takeout and the manverbally asked me to give him a tip. I declined and he got mad and stomped around with an attitude. As others have stated, the employees and service were fine but the food was bad - not even mediocre... I don't know about the... pulled pork, but the brisket was chewy and dry, the Brunswick stew was watery and bland, and the Mac&cheese seemed more oilythan cheesy. Quickly became a chore to finish my plate, which I did not. If someone suggested going here for lunch again, iwould have to refuse. Read more

We always enjoy great 'que with a brew from Reformation Brewery next door. Had a very generous portion of ribs and sausage... today. Loved it. Great atmosphere. The atmosphere of the whole place is so cool, being next to the river is very pleasant and there's lots of shaded outdoor... seating. But the food is impressively bad. I had "low & slow" which I was told is like burnt ends in sauce. The meat was morelike beef jerky, it was so tough. The coleslaw is slimy. The baked beans was the best thing I got and even that was maybe3/10. In addition, the service was remarkably slow. It took 30 min from when I ordered to get anything, and there were only twopeople ahead of me. I'm so bummed, I had really hoped to love this place. I love the brewery next door, but not a super fan of this BBQ. I actually go out of my way to eat elsewhere and come to the... brewery after. Ordered the BBQ plate, which looks like the photos accompanying this reviews. Sides are collard greens and Mac ncheese. The collard greens are ok. The mac n cheese, which is a ?premium? side, is truly abysmal. Honestly the worst mac ncheese I have ever tried. There is almost no cheese, and the pasta is over cooked (and completely the wrong shape for this typeof serving). It was served very sloppily - touching the metal trays which probably do not get washed after every customer (evenif they do, food is not supposed to directly touch them). The pulled pork tastes pretty good. It only comes with one piece ofwhite sandwich bread, which I don?t really get. Maybe it?s a southern thing; I grew up in the south but I?m not especiallywell-versed in BBQ norms. I personally don?t prefer white bread with my BBQ, but that?s personal preference. Overall, it?s justok. If I ate here again, I?d just get the pulled pork itself. Avoid the mac n cheese at all costs. Read more
