I would like to rate this higher, but the only reason I put 3 stars is because of the service staff out front. We came in and it... was apparent they were busy and understaffed. Greeted right away, but had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Our waitress wasfrequently checking on us and did her best to provide quality service. They were out of fruit though. It took a long time forour food to get to us and it was found wanting. I don't know what the cooks are doing, but our steak was burnt through, thebacon was burnt, the meat lover's skillet had burnt hashbrowns at the bottom and half the meat was over cooked, sausage was overcooked. The waitress made sure we got new bacon and a new steak, but the steak while cooked correctly that time tasted of 3 dayold burnt food as if their grill was not being cleaned. I will say again, the waitresses/front of house went out of their way toprovide service, but back of the house was dragging them down with poor food quality and long waiting times. They have great Eggs Benedict. Great marionberry cheesecake pie. We had a really good server. Then she went to lunch and told us... she was going and that her coworker would take good care of us. Nope. They were not busy and we watched him just standing atthe counter. After half an hour I went up to the cash register and ordered our pie. Never had THAT happen before... Read more
The food was fine, but it took them a long time considering the place was not busy. There was also no offer of a drink refill.
I gave this partiular Shari's location 5 stars because of good attitude and excellent customer service! When I first arrived... there were a couple of people ahead of me but I heard one of the only 2 wait persons say in a pleasant voice " we'll be rightwith you". The girl ahead of me was telling people as they came in that it was going to be a 15 minute wait and that their wereonly 2 wait staff. That was fine with me; what else did I have to do :)) I think I really only waited 5 minutes until I wasseated by Donna. She was a very very nice member of Shari's staff. Long story short- these two wonderful women whom were waitingon an entire dining room full of hungry people were hustling as fast and safe as they could and still had smiles on their facesand pleasantness in their hearts. I'm not going to lie I really do love the food and I love cherries. But, I also noticed that they hire people who don't know the... law and don't know the difference between the law and Sherry's policies. someone at my table tried to order a drink, who is over21 years old, and the waiter denied her because her ID was still vertical. We then asked another staff member she startedshouting in our face saying "it is AGAINST THE LAW" when it is clearly not. She continued to say that everywhere else we must'vegone and ordered drinks was breaking the law. Once the manager came to explain that it is Shari's policy and not the law we cameto peace. But Shari's workers should not be spreading FALSE AND WRONG information. We have traveled the country with a verticalID and ordered drinks everywhere, don't tell people things that are not true. Luckily we are not sheep and didn't follow thiswrong information and think it was the law. She also yelled saying we needed to go change the ID to a horizontal ID. What can be said about this experience? The staff is friendly, and nice. However, service tended to drag. They were out of... chicken tenders for our appetizer platter, so they doubled our quesadillas, and gave us free pie. Can't complain about that! So,all in all, good tasting food, and decent service. The food was better than we expected! Nothing like fulfilling pregnancy cravings that is breakfast for dinner ???? I love that... they offer add-ons like strawberries and topped my french toast with whipped cream! Although probably not the most nutritious,it sure did hit the spot. The atmosphere was nice and lower-lit than most restaurants I felt like. Great for sharing anintimate meal with friends or loved-ones. And our server David or Dave, (I can't remember), was great! His timing for checkingon us was perfect and he made sure we had everything we needed. I was a little nervous giving Shari's a try after the effects ofthe pandemic, but seems like it hasn't skipped a beat. It's still as good as I remember! Thank you Shari's! Whole pies for self pickup cost $15.80-$19.00ea before tax; unfortunately, I can't afford them any more. Too bad; the lemon... meringue pie and fruit pies are very good, but I'm having to find a more affordable pie elsewhere for Thanksgiving. I'm citing 2stars because the pies are good, just too expensive. Advice to Corporate Shari's: Make your whole pies more affordable sopeople, like me, can continue to purchase them throughout the year: that's a win-win situation. (In the past, I've purchased2-3 full pies a year; now I will not.) Read more
