Employee did not wash his hands before preparing food. Went to order a sub for my son, when I got there I noticed one of the... employees smoking outside and then he came inside to start working. He went into the back to pick up his apron I was watchinghim the whole time he grabbed his gloves with his dirty hands from smoking and touching his mouth which soiled his gloves. Heput on his gloves and then started preparing food. I asked him why he didn?t wash his hands and he stated he washed them in theback and of course he did not he only went back there to pick up his apron everybody knows to clean your hands it takes time.Serve safe food safety standards are you lather up for 20 seconds vigorously thoroughly rubbing your hands and surfacesincluding fingertips and thumbs then rinse hands thoroughly. Pretty surprised by the service. The sandwich maker really took his time and effort to make a great Sammy. Doesn't sound hard... but some places have really lazy employees. Thank you for being so kind! I also noticed the other guys were very nice to whothey helped too. Read more
While waiting in line to buy a sandwich ? what seems as an off the clock employee from another store thought it was professional... to address company sanitary processes in front of paying customers only made me question if I should buy food here? Also rubbedthe employee who are working the wrong way. Very tense mood. I was going to eat at the store but then changed my mind and left.10 for food. 1 for conduct. First time at a Jersey Mike's and WOW! A wonderful experience and a truly excellent meal. The employees were fast, kind, and... allergy-friendly (talking about ingredients and even changing gloves and cleaning in front of me!) which I deeply appreciated!It wasn't too difficult to hear them or speak to them, which is a rarity in most sub shops, especially a busy one. Ingredientswere all very fresh and extremely delicious! I got an Italian sub (#13 Classic Italian) with a few modifications and asked forit done 'Mike's Way' which means onions, lettuce, tomatoes, spices (oregano, black pepper, and optional salt), and 'theJuice'. The red vinegar and oil dubbed 'the Juice' is quite possibly the best I've ever had. The red vinegar in particular isvery tasty. It enhanced the flavor of everything (except the pickles, which seemed oddly bland with no tangy bite, I'll have totry them again without the oil and vinegar), especially the meats, and really elevated a sandwich into a true sub. It alsoseemed very messy and is likely enjoyed immediately after preparation, rather than saved for later. I'll definitely be tryingother shops in this chain. I'd rank Jersey Mike's right up there with my favorite sub shop of all time, Port of Subs. To mytastes, Port of Subs has better bread and a wider variety of quality vegetables, but Jersey Mike's was no slouch in thosedepartments. I just really like vegetables! Read more
Stopped here for a quick dinner to take home. The place is clean and the staff is welcoming and friendly. I came Monday... evening around 8pm, so I don't know who was working, but they are rock stars. Did you know that (unlike subway), not only isyour sandwich made to order in front of you, but they slice their meat and cheese PER ORDER in front of you? And the gentlemenactually seemed proud that they do it. And it was worth it. So delicious. I probably could have turned that sub into twomeals, but it was so good, I ate the whole thing that night. Stop making me ask for the bacon my sandwich comes with. Assume people want the bacon if the menus says it comes with bacon.... People will make sure you know if they don?t want the bacon! Read more
