Menu for Latin Roots Cuisine in Lyman, SC

First, I would love to state that I'm a huge fan of anything PR. I will normally go out my way to support local Puerto Rican... cuisine. Unfortunately, I would not, will not suggest this place. Service was horrible. The woman running the cash register wasinconsiderate and rude. We sat there for 2 (TWO) HOURS! She never even refilled our drinks once. It wasn't even busy, and neverapproached our table to tell us the status of our food. There was a table that came in after us that got their food and finishedtheir food before we even got ours. We decided to get up and pay for our drinks, and that's when she told the Chef to not cookour food, because we were not wanting it any more. Now, after 2 (TWO) hours you would think that our food was at least gettingstarted, boy was I wrong. What the heck? Two sodas and two alcapurrias cost a whopping $14....Never will I be coming back. Maybe we came at a bad time as they closed early on this Thursday, we were told it was because the cook was overwhelming with a... party of 10 ladies. We arrived at 6pm and was seated and ordered. Then it took an hour for our food to arrive, it was good, butwe were told plantains came with our meal and went we, Did not get them, we asked and were told we didn?t tell her which kind wewanted, but she never told us we had a choice to make so we did not get to try them. I got the pork chop lunch special and mywife got the rib lunch special, both came with black/red beans and rice and plantains if you tell them with kind you want :).They were both good for 8.99 each but not worth an hours wait. The lack of consideration of this place is astonishing. first I pull up and a sign says closed for two hours the lady instructs... me when I walk in that they are still closed for 30 minutes so I go waste some time and return 40 minutes later and she thentells me they are closed for the NIGHT!!!! After I drove 25 minutes to try this place then waste 30 minutes to try it to just bejerked around and be told they are closed.... mean while people were sitting inside eating. New restaurant open for about 2 weeks when we visited. We were regulars at Cazadores (the previous owners) and the service was... always prompt. This was not the case with latin roots. Ee sat ourselves. Got our own menus. We left after 20 minutes with noservice. There was one other table which appeared to be family. We won't be going back. No stars. Read more
