Reviews for The Old Seelbach Bar in Louisville, KY
Came here after dinned to enjoy the flourless chocolate cake. Great experience although there was throw up on the ground near... us! Waitress was friendly and helpful! Read more
Really nice place. Cocktails were pretty all over the place (one with no sweetness the other all sugar... And that was a sour!)... The prices for the bourbons are terrible.... Just divide by (2 to 4) and maybe you can sell some and compete with the rest ofthe state. I'll get lunch tomorrow 0.2 miles away and drink the same shot for a fourth of the price listed here. We need to get one thing out of the way, it's a hotel bar so drinks are pricey. That aside it's an outstanding bar, and if... you're in Louisville then bourbon is the thing and they have nearly anything you could want. The bartenders know their businessand are very good at what they do. Friendly and welcoming, spot on with local recommendations. I didn't eat there so can'ttalk on the food. 4 stars instead of 5 is for the price. It's a must stop if in Louisville. Read more
This place isn't bad if you are looking for a drink while at the hotel, but it does not feel like a destination. The derby pie... was underwhelming for me and I feel like the menu was somewhat limited as to food. The drink menu, however, was huge --particularly the selection of bourbon. Read more
Best Food In Town!!! This is my new favorite place to go and try new bourbons but the food ???? The chef I had the honor to meet... name was Carl. He is one of the most talented and humble chefs I?ve met. The food is out of this world and cannot be duplicated.I?ve gotten the same dish more than once and it?s slightly different but great every time!! The steak nachos are wonderful !!The Mac and cheese balls are great but the homemade sauce that comes with it is UNBELIEVABLE!! Out of this world!! I asked if hewas cooking cause I?m not sure if any of that food could be replicated it?s one of a kind !! They also have a variety ofbourbons the flights are fun and they really seem to be knowledgeable about the bourbons. It?s a great place to start off ifyou?re a bourbon enthusiast for sure. I?ve discovered some new drinks there. Molly is a really sweet helpful waitress. She?svery nice and patient. It?s a great place !! Very historical!! Most people go for the bourbon from my observation but as long asCarl is in that kitchen, I?ll be a regular returning customer. Literally the BEST FOOD IN TOWN !! Read more
Dropped in for drinks on a Saturday afternoon. Atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We stayed for close to two hours sipping on... cocktails and watching baseball. What more can you ask for in an afternoon? Read more
The Old Seelbach Bar is part of the historic Seelbach Hotel. The ambiance isn't what I expected. I expected an old mostly... wooden bar and historic. Instead, it is more modern decor inside. Once I ditched my expectations, I was impressed by themassive selection of bourbons that they have. My friend and I popped in for a cocktail and snack. I ordered a mint julep withElijah Craig and the hummus platter. The mint julep was fantastic! The hummus platter was yummy! Perfect afternoon pit stop! Read more
