Definitely not what I expected. Food wasn't freshly cooked. Just dipped out of containers. And there was only one person... working. She was doing everything, not the most sanitary situation. Read more

Some of the best Cajun food in Louisville. I had the make your own nachos with the drunken chicken so much I couldn't eat it... all. My husband had the gumbo. It was very good. And the young lady that waited on us was very friendly. This was the one onFrankford Ave Read more

Yum yum... the drunken chicken, the veggie entree, and the spicky chicken we really liked. I also tried the gumbo. Very solid.... Younger lady at the counter, was pleasant to chat and sample with. Must come back! Read more

Very disappointed, not only the lack of taste but actually poor taste of the dish. It had very little crawfish, didn't see the... onions, bell peppers or celery. The sauce was too thick like a brown gravy from a Chinese restaurant not the tomato base that'smore popular in Louisiana. I split one order with my spouse and neither one of us finished even half a serving. Read more

NOLA in Louisville. We had a groupon. Clockwise: Mac and cheese side, crawfish dip, Texas toast with Shrimp étouffée. Not... pictured: tortilla chips. Quick service. Would recommend. 8/22/20 Read more

First time at J. Gumbo and would definitely go back! We were the first customers of the day arriving at 11am on a Sunday... morning. The bowls are hearty, good sized portions and decent prices. The staff was friendly and allowed us to taste a couple ofthe dishes. The inside decor was super cool and good vibes. Read more

Husband loves this place and took me for first time today. Excellent staff! So friendly. Ask for a sample of items before you... order. Husband had VooDoo chicken and loved it. The food was fresh, however not to my taste. I had the drunken chicken andit was too sweet for me taste, however several other people ordered after me and enjoyed it. Portions are hearty and filling. Husband added shrimp to his VooDoo chicken and our total including drinks was $24ish. I believe if I go again I will try theBumblebee, its has more of a rich, savory vegetable flavor that is not too sweet. Read more

Get the Jean Lafitte with drunken instead of voodoo, its so tasty and has a great blend of flavors (they give you jalepenos... cheese and sour cream). Its also super filling. They messed up my order, but gave me a free meal. Super cool of themconsidering it was still tasty. Read more
