1st time visiting Louisburg location. Here from Charlotte for a college football game. Servers were very sweet & knowledgeable.... I kid you not, our order came so fast! We were expecting a lunch rush wait but no. Food was at the table within minutes ofordering. All food was so hot and fresh, not drowning in grease. Thank You! The hushpuppy rings...OMG. This was my very first experience at the Mayflower, I must say wholeheartedly will say I'm going back!!! The food was delicious,... every single staff member spoke to us and made sure we had any and everything we needed ???? and I also will say the bathroomswere well stocked and super clean and actually smelled good. My sister is fully paralyzed except her right arm and hand. Shehas had both of her legs removed and is in a wheelchair ??. We don't get out much. But she was even comfortable and happy there. (Has never happened) I feel Like all of your staff members who work at this location deserve some kind of bonus or raise. Idefinitely tipped our Waitress pretty good I wish I could have done more. Also I want to mention the prices of everything, theyare pretty decent and definitely worth it especially when you're on a fixed income as myself. WE have been dining at this Mayflower, for many, many years.. Now suddenly, we are getting food that has changed from when we... have dined here previously. This past time we ordered boiled shrimp, which we have had for many times before, time the coatingon the boiled shrimp was so spicy hot that it basically was almost hard to eat. We realize that perhaps the younger folks mightlike their seafood far more spicy, than seniors. In the past we tried to indicate some things to our waitress of how we wantedour seafood, but it seemed to no avail. Seniors have money and we like to dine out. However if we are unable to get seafood theway that we ordered i and like it, there are other seafood restaurants in the area that serve us seafood the way that we askedfor. This place is usually ok, the typical Mayflower, but a nice change over the rest of weekdays available, but why bother coming... here if you can't get food? Tonight they shut the kitchen down early, over 30 minutes before closing time and wouldn't let meorder to go. I wouldn't have left my house if knew they wouldn't take my order. My flounder tasted fishy. Other people in my party had problems with their food as well. When I checked out my $23 bill somehow... ended up being $30. I asked the cashier why it was so high and she said she didn't know. Well that's not exactly the truth. Theregister added a tip and she was skirting around the issue. AWESOME!!! Have recently been to some other Mayflower's that were, shall we say, less than stellar. This one in Louisburg was... exactly what the Mayflower standard use to be and should be! This is the real deal! The Mayflower we grew to love through the years. We ordered a three item combo plate and split it two... ways and still had a full tray to bring home. Very CLEAN and new decor. Great service during these trying times. The tea. HmmmmI think they need a better water filter. But other than that, and I?m a Chef and very picky, it was a 5 stars for me. Read more
