Nella is EXCELLENT! My wife and I (French and Italian living in SB) make our own butter, cheese, pasta, ragù … - we’re as... foodies as you can get. We were seriously pleased to discover this place just 20 miles from home. The baguette was perfectlycrunchy on the outside and moist on the inside as you’d get it from a boulangerie in Paris. Then then mussels. The whitesauce was perfect, light and flavorful at the same time. Then we had a pinsa Scarpetta. While the idea of putting ragù(another name for bolognese sauce) on flatbread is quite unorthodox for an Italian I just really care about flavor in the endand this was GREAT. The pinsa’s crust is extra light and the ragù had such an authentic flavor! Delicious. We wrapped it upwith and Alessio’s Belgian cookie gelato that we pondered for a while whether we should get. DO NOT HESITATE! The ice cream issoft and creamy, not too sweet. The ball of ice cream is enclosed in a shell of rich Belgian dark chocolate - so good. An absolutely stunning experience. My first time in Los Olivos, and because of this restaurant I will definitely be back. The... service was impeccable and flawless with kindness and care. The food was out of this world, honestly the best prepared duck andsauce I've had outside of France. If you're in the area I would highly recommend making a stop at Nella. Read more
I am still dreaming about the fresh flavors from the perfectly prepared branzino. And If you are thinking about the lamb chops,... don’t over think it. Order it!!!! Chef does an impeccable job of showcasing the well seasoned chops without any need foroverpowering sauces. Worried about gaminess??? Nothing to worry about!!! Best margarita pizza I've ever had...flaky, light, super crispy crust, super delicious, very addictive. This place is at a... different level entirely. Filet and bread were delicious. Marcona almonds on the Caesar salad were awesome, knowing that Iwould've tried the Marcona almonds appetizer. Service was great and I like the outside patio, although the bar was packed aswell.
