Super legit. They churn out sandwhich ss. Staff is super polite and kind as long as you are too. I love the it?s glass. Kind of... expensive. Can defiantly add up if you get a drink and chips and a desert special if they have them.. but worth it. Read more

The Terry Gross / roast turkey, green chili aioli, jalapeño/cilantro/radish slaw, hominy, tomatillo vinaigrette, pepper jack,... focaccia - 5 ???? Thai tea + raspberry soft serve - 5 ???? Wax Paper Frogtown is a bit out of the way but they are worth avisit. They gave a fun container space with a tiny patio. I went on a hot day but it was comfortable in the shade. The sandwichwas excellent. Tasty blend of flavors and textures on super fresh house made bread. The slaw on the sandwich was great. All ofit was and filling. I couldn't resist their soft serve. Perfect way to end a lunch meal on a very hot day. They have twolocations. I'll be making sure I stop by their Chinatown spot. Read more

We lucked into a parking spot this time and ordered ahead online and our order was ready fairly quickly. The person handing out... orders was friendly. I tried the Lakshmi Singh for the first time and probably won?t order it again, but there are others I wantto try that they have only at the Chinatown location. I thought I didn?t like their pickles at first (sweet, not dill) but aftera few tries maybe I kinda do:) Read more

In Frogtown, just north of Echo Park, artsy shipping containers with matching patio furniture suspiciously take over a quiet... corner of the neighborhood. Of course, the sighting is no mystery to the locals, as Wax Paper is undoubtedly the most lovedsandwich place in all of L.A! With their experience in the restaurant industry, owners Peter and Lauren Lemos just wanted toprovide a place for locals to hang out...with a sandwich shop. The sandwiches and the drinks at Wax Paper are far from ordinaryas the incredibly genuine and passionate people at the shop with their mission to 'serve everyone.' These are musts. Ira Glass:savory garlic aioli spread on a Bub and Grandma's airy bread with all the textures in check with creamy avocados and crunchyveggies. Larry Mantle: bold flavors of provolone, bologna, and capicola balanced with zesty, vinegared veggies in a soft sub.The pickles made in-house were a perfect complement to the sandwiches. Read more

Obsesssssssssed with this place. Love the menu love the vibe. Very FROGTOWN. When I went online order only - a little bit of... pain. I got the Audie Cornish which was extremely delish. Would hope they have more new options on the menu and maybe somelimited edition features. And who doesn?t love NPR? Read more

We were in the neighborhood, and looked up a place for lunch. We are so glad we came across Wax Paper! Delicious sandwiches with... fresh, local ingredients all named after NPR hosts. We tried the Larry Mantle (Italian on a fresh, soft sesame roll), and theTerry Gross (turkey with pepper jack and a spicy slaw on focaccia). Both sandwiches were served with a housemade pickle spear, and huge! We saved half for dinner. We also got some side salads: the Aloha pasta salat, and the Mr. Bean. Again, both tasty, both made with quality ingredients. They offer many other items with local origins, including Rusty's chips. I tried a cold brewcoffee, which was good, but probably the wrong thing to have with my spicy sandwich. This is a must-try for some qualitysandwiches in L.A.! This is a tiny location with no onsite seating. You'll have to grab a spot at the nearby park or take away. Read more

This was delicious but the price tag is painful. I paid $20 + tip for this sandwich (without sides) and while it was delicious,... I?m afraid I couldn?t justify the price again. Read more

Came here on the spur of the moment based on a faintly remembered article about cool sandwich shops in LA. I can imagine any of... them even coming close to this. I had the Larry Mantle as recommended by the staff. When I opened the little box it was like aray of light shone down from the heavens, celebrating the fact that I had found my new favorite sandwich. Tasty, substantial, and perfectly squishy bread. Allegedly, there was other food at my table but I was too busy inhaling my sandwich to notice. IHIGHLY recommend finding this little out of the way place. Read more
