Decided to try Trejo’s Cantina for a late brunch. We just showed up and we’re immediately sat at the cutest table. Service... was quick, friendly and efficient. They had great suggestions for us as we had never been. Decided to try a few things. Theylet me out the Fried Chicken taco on a flour tortilla. It was DELISH! I also got the Fried Chicken quesadilla. Seriously sogood. Chicken was done to perfection. I also got the Frozen Strawberry Margarita. They are not messing around. Boozy and yummy.Decided to stay a little longer and order the margarita flight. Another winner. Restrooms are super clean. You can tell theytake a lot of pride in where they work. Had some amazing vegan tacos!! I'm usually not the biggest jack fruit fan, but they were my favorite! The chips and guac was... cleverly put together. They had pistachios in the guac and lime zest on the chips, made for a wonderful flavor combination. Myhusband had the chicken, beef and fish tacos and loved them all. Trejo's Mexican lager was light and refreshing. Even tried hismango hard seltzer which wasn't overly sweetened (like many are) and our waiter suggested I pour it in the glass with a tahinrim and it was so good to have the spice with the mango. We walked in on a Thursday afternoon, there is only valet parking in the lot. We were sat right away. The food came out pretty... quick, it was delicious. I had the 2 tacos combo and my Mom had the carnitas bowl with a side of chips and salsa. This is thesecond location and it was just as good as the other. Read more
Really good food and a wide range of maybe 30 brews on tap. I tried the carne asada burrito and it was really good. My friend... tried a couple of the tacos, a margarita, and was pleasantly surprised with everything. The place has a nice relaxed vibe and ismore than just a tourist stop for fans of Danny Trejo. I had the Baja Fish Taco, Spicy Shrimp "not that spicy but good" and the Fried Chicken taco. All the tacos were good, all... ingredients fresh. Also had the Chips and Guacamole, interesting they put pistachios in the Guacamole, it was really good. Itried the hot sauce not to my liking but I also don't like chipotle peppers, I like a bit sweeter pepper hot sauce. Read more
Danny Trejo is a great actor and all around human being. He's just so cool! The restaurant space is on the larger side and... located on a corner plaza that has its own tiny parking lot. Parking in that lot is valet only and $20. Good luck! The menuitself contains a lot of classics and some unique offerings like the vegan option of jackfruit. Service was quick and food cameout in a timely manner. The salsa that came with the burritos is a game changer. It was very tasty! I recommend trying thisplace out but only if you're in the area. I’ve lived in LA for 6 years and have never tried this place until today. I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed! The asada... was really great & the carnitas meat was as well. The only thing I could say was that the cheap bagged lettuce on top of theasada & the raw pineapple on the carnitas could’ve been done better. The drinks were awesome & strong so be prepared. Ourwaitress even ended up giving us a free beer just because. We were so confused, but no complaints. All in all, it was a prettygreat visit. Delicious, friendly & decent pricing. Read more
The restaurant is beautiful! Super cool! Colors, furniture, bar all of it nailed! Very well designed! The food is one of the... most tasty Mexican I've ever had. Unfortunately we were a little bit late and we had to take it away because the restaurant wasclosing. FYI if you want to sit you have to go one hour and a half before. Also I would have loved to have a drink but the barwas closed already. We arrived 9:20 PM and the restaurant closes 10 PM. Read more
