Reviews for SushiEn in East Los Angeles, CA
I ended up going to Sushien twice in consecutive nights (I genuinely enjoy a good sushi restaurants and those are hard to find... where I live). The food was great in both occasions and there were a lot of people waiting to go into the small restaurant. --it is not the most sophisticated ambiance (in fact, it is small and mostly poorly decorated). On the other hand, it is easy tosee that the main focus is on the quality and freshness of the food. Service was great both times and the food was quicklyavailable. I definitely recommend this place. When I got my sushi home, I wasn't sure anyone at this shop had been formally trained in sushi making, as the rice was closer to... Minute Rice than short grain and didn't hold together when picked up. One saving grace: the fish was fresh. The seating area wasindustrial, the server Latina, the prices no bargain...I didn't stay long enough to observe more. Read more
My husband and I found ourselves spending the night in LA and after driving for quite some time and a super long day, we... stumbled across this little hole in the wall. I can?t quite remember the dishes we ordered, but I do remember enjoying them andappreciating how flavorful they were. Quality and taste was good for the price. Would stop and eat here again if we are ever inthe neighborhood again. Read more
The plate looked so pretty and the food was delightful. It took some time to be ready, but I wouldn't call this fast food, so... that's to be expected. I had the golden tiger roll because it seemed interesting, and it was quite good. Read more
Love this place. But most importantly, this chirashi bowl is amazing.. Nice portion for the price. In addition to this, you also... get a miso soup. It's surprising to find a good sushi spot like this one in East LA. The staff are very nice as well, and theestablishment is kept nice and clean. :) Read more
This was easily one of the more disappointing visits I've had because there was no excuse for the food quality nor missed... portions. I ordered 2 sushi bentos that were mediocre at best. The fish wasn't tasty and was actually kinda gamey. The salad wasdrenched in dressing and the California roll was warm. Staff forgot to add the missed miso soups, which we were highly excitedfor. The price also seemed high considering the experience. I also wish the cashier wouldn't have convinced us that the cannedboba was a semblance of good- upon first taste, I knew it was pre-packaged garbage. Very disappointing experience. Portions werelarge. ???? the pre-packaged ginger was also disappointing. Do yourself a favor and drive to Little Tokyo for some sushi. Read more
Large quantity of food as well as quality. The only things missing were the chicken cutlet dip sauce and the tempura dip sauce.... This place is good enough to satisfied your sushi craving. Read more
