Sushi Zo DTLA is undeniably the best restaurant in Los Angeles. I don?t mean the best sushi bar?Sushi Zo DTLA is the best... restaurant in Los Angeles, period. We had dinner on a Wednesday evening and sat at the bar. Chef Shinpei Shinohara prepared ourmagnificent meal, which began with a sashimi and oyster course, followed by an array of sushi, so delicious that it wasimpossible to tell which course was our favorite. I have eaten at sushi restaurants all over the world for 40 years and I caneasily report that this is my favorite dining experience in Los Angeles. Thank you and wonderful staff at Sushi Zo DTLA! Amazing Omakase experience. We had 2 bottles of sake and split a beer. Absolutely memorable and would do it again.

The food and service is uniformly excellent. It's omakase style, they'll ask if there's anything you can't or don't want and... the chef will take it from there. Just about everything melts in your mouth. You'll have plenty of time to savor each bite, aseating will take about 2.5-3 hours. Read more

Don't listen to what anyone else says, Sushi Zo is bar none the best sushi in the city. I've been to most of the other nice... sushi spots (barring Urasawa and Sushi Nozawa) and this takes the cake. The perfect warm rice and each piece played separatelyand perfectly seasoned or sauced so there's minimal thinking and futzing and maximum enjoyment. It's ridiculously expensive soI've only been twice but worth it every time. Read more

I had a wonderful dinner at Sushi Zo last night! Really really enjoyed and loved their omakase Sushi. Everything was absolutely... a top notch? Sushi made by Sushi master Taro was so beautiful like an art! Our server Yui and Keiko explained what each dishwas. Where the fish came from and how they cooked. Their explanations made our experience more rich and enjoyable! For the highquality sushi, I would definitely go back again!! Highly recommended!! After all this, they came to the door and greeted us whenwe left. I had a great time! Thank you so very much and see you soon!! Read more

Amazing place to grab a romantic dinner or be transported to Japan. The ambiance is very spacious but reminiscent of a very... clean and modern feel. The sushi bar with very professional and chefs that communicate what every dish is is a good choice. Theyalso have a few tables that offer some more privacy and easier to talk when in groups. Wasn't super crowded when I went on aweekday right when they opened and we were able to be seated without reservations but that may have been a fluke as the signoutside says reservations only. The food is truly the best part and really an extension of art and the chefs are very proud. All the fish is extremely fresh and the flavor profiles are absolutely amazing. Some of the highlights for me are the sea urchinuni as well as multiple others. The 25 courses leaves you absolutely stuffed and the service is laser fast and professional.Honestly very impressed with this place and is worth a visit by everyone. Read more
