Great vibes. Great books. Great people.
Stories is a cafe/book store that is the ultimate spot to hang out in. The cafe serves coffee, kombucha, beer, and wine and has... pastries by Clark Street. There?s a back patio and some indoor seating. Wifi is available for customers! There are also a lot ofbooks to look through at decent prices. Love coming here to support small businesses and hang out! Read more
My favorite coffee shop in the area. It?s nothing fancy but there?s tons of seating, a very respectful (quiet) crowd, and good... coffee. And a fun selection of books if you?re looking for something to read. Read more
This book store is full of really unique books. It?s not huge, but there are so many interesting things to read and a cute... little coffee shop in the back. Worth a stop in 10/10 Read more
I?m an avid reader and collector of rare books. This morning I thought I?d take my wife to this bookstore for a snack along with... looking for books that I might be interested in . We arrived a few minutes after the store opened. As I entered I saw a glasscase with some rare/collectible books that I was quite interested in. Behind me I noticed a young woman working behind thecounter. I politely asked her if she could unlock the doors so I could look at a couple of books. To my complete surprise shewas exceptionally rude to me and acted as if she was doing me a favor by letting me look at their collectible books. When Ilooked at the books that I inquired about I was quite interested in them despite prices that were a bit high, yet I couldn?t getover the sales girl?s rudeness, so I told her thank you, proceeded to grab my wife from the back patio, and proceeded to leavethe store. To bad, if the sales girl was more polite I probably would?ve spent a considerable amount of money in this store, onethat I will not return to in the future. Read more
Stories is a small bookstore and cafe in Echo Park. They have a wooden folding chess board available for patrons to play while... they're in the cafe area. The board is very old and classic looking, and some of the wood squares are beginning to warp. Theblack pieces are missing a rook and have a ?Sorry? piece in its place. Check the back counter of the cafe area (see photo forexact location) to find where the board is stored when not in use. Read more
Great dirty chai. Not a huge selection but an interesting well-curated bookstore with cafe seating inside, back patio, as well... as out front on Sunset. They also sell Incienso De Santa Fe and some cutesy cards. Read more
Incredible service & great space. Proprietor held the last copy of a hot book for us after calling in, told us interesting... details about a used edition, and bonded over the fact they?re the only bookstore that mixes sci fi into fiction, as it shouldbe. Bless this place Read more
