Had an absolute delicious and amazing time at Sparrow this past Saturday night! It was mine and my best friends first time at... this restaurant (we were there celebrating her birthday) and we were not disappointed at all. I had the bolognese and oh my god,I wish I could have this for dinner everyday. The cocktails were delicious and so entertaining! Dessert is an absolute must andyou will not be disappointed with the cannoli and zeppole. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO OUR AMAZING SERVER, JUSTIN ? He was absolutelyamazing. Super attentive and kind. He had amazing recommendations and made sure we were set for the night. Everything wasperfect and I cannot wait to dine here again! Read more

Food was AMAZING! We had the grilled octopus for appetizer, and it was very well done! The wagyu alla vodka beef pizza was so... delicious that I thought I could finished the whole thing myself. Our server, Justin, was very friendly, energetic, andattentive. Service from all the staff was superb! This was the first time we dined there, and it was definitely one of my bestdining experiences. I'm sure we'll frequent the place in the future. Highly recommend! Read more

Always enjoy coming here but unfortunately I was looking forward to the seafood salad and it was not available. Staff should... know ahead of time. Also, it wasn't quite busy when we arrived but the food still took a long time to reach us. They compedthe toast to make up for it. Nice. Read more

I was truly surprised by this adorable set up of Sparrow located inside the Figueroa Hotel in DTLA. We dined there on a Saturday... evening and made reservations a few weeks in advance. This Italian/Mediterranean inspired restaurant serves up delicious cuisineand fun cocktails. There's also a live DJ and Guitarist. It's busy during dinner service. We shared the heirloom Tomato andBuffalo Mozzarella Pesto salad, Grilled Octopus, Truffle Parmegiana, Bone marrow Agnolotti and the Eggplant Parmegiana. Weenjoyed the Basilica and Sicily Cocktails with dinner. The view is nice which opens up to the pool outside with cabanas. There's also another dining room inside. Our server, Devon, was an absolute professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Thanks again for the experience and olive oil birthday cake for dessert. Gourmet food yet it's not a stuffy restaurant. Valetis $18/hour for guests dining at Sparrow. There's an adjacent parking lot & the rates vary depending on events happening in thedowntown LA area. We checked in 15 minutes ahead of our 7pm reservation and didn't get seated until 7:30. Many other parties weren't seated for... over an hour after their reservation! We didn't even get a "thank you for your patience". Our waiter seemed like a nice guy,but wasn't familiar with the cocktails and wasn't able to make a good recommendation on food. Food was okay. Ambiance was cool. Our appetizer never came. Read more

The location and atmosphere is great. The service is good. Prices are a bit expensive, maybe can be a bit lower. The food... quality is acceptable, but very salty. The menu items are very limited. Read more

Southern Italian cuisine on the ground floor of the Hotel Figueroa in DTLA. Overall it was a really nice meal and I was on the... fence between four and five stars so the easiest way to sum up why I chose four would be through the pros and cons. PRO: Ourserver and the all the staff that dealt with our table, or check in, were very polite. Aside from an issue with the refillseverything came out quickly and we were checked on many times. I like design on the inside, it?s really open with tallceilings, cool artwork on the way into the dining area, and comfortable seating. I started off with the Beets & Burrata Saladand really liked the flavors. The beets were fresh and the oranges added a great acidic component and the vinaigrette sauce wasespecially a nice touch and my favorite part. For my entree I chose the Bone Marrow Agnolotti because marrow is one of myfavorite things to eat and it too was very rich and flavorful. Finally for dessert we went with the Bread Pudding and it was agreat finish complete with a big scoop of vanilla gelato. CON: Our server was great and very polite but forgot to inquire fordrink refills and when we did order some they didn?t come before the check did, which is not a big deal and think it was more ofan overbooking issue because our server was assigned to many tables at the same time as ours. Finally what really takes away astar for me are the portion sizes. My Agnolotti was 12 pieces on a small flat plate (I also think they should serve it in a bowlinstead). For an entree 12 bites really leaves you wanting more and went too quickly. Same issue with the Beet Salad: it wasgreat in taste but very small. My Mom is Calabrese and so I know Italian portions are very generous so I feel it feel short inthat department. Overall I would recommend but beware of the portion sizes and suggest going on a week night or an early dinnerto avoid any issues. Read more
