Reviews for Sora - Temporarily CLOSED in Los Angeles, CA
Excellent Japanese restaurant. Excellent view of entire Los Angeles area
A 69-floor Sora Sushi restaurant at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown offers a great Omakase with very fresh fishes,... elegant presentations and unique and different plating, plus a specular view of the heart of the Downtown Los Angeles Financial District. Sous Chef Jessica personally made all courses, while waiter Juan delivered each dish, who worked there two monthsbefore the restaurant was open in June 2017. Manager Frank Seridat supervises the Sora with his many years' culinaryexperience. Read more
Sora is off the chain! I came here for the first time last week and took advantage of their AYCE lunchtime menu. Let me say this... - $30 per person for sushi of that quality with that view is unbelievable! My group was fortunate to be graced by the manager'spresence who spoke with us for a bit. I wish I could remember his name, but he was the cherry on top of our perfect lunch. Asfar as the sushi - the quality was very good given the price. I was impressed. I've eaten sushi in many places all over theworld and was pleased by what I ate. Our server was very sweet making sure to clear our plates frequently. I still can't getover how cool the 69th floor concept over-looking downtown/Hollywood is with their sushi just coming around. I will absolutelycome back when I'm back in LA. Thanks again. 10/10 Read more
Buffet lunch is $35 and excellent quality. Great view of the city.
I had a wonderful time. The carousel was just something I had wanted to do for a long time but they also had a full menu top... pick and choose. Truly a unique experience starting with finding the place within the Intercontinental. Read more
First off, it's a little strange to walk through another restaurant to get there, but once there, the view is five stars. Sushi... is three. The whole experience however, is a lot of fun and a relaxing way to enjoy dinner with a loved one. The bill adds upquickly as the plates stack up from the belt... We wanted a particular kind that we didn't see come by for a long time and theymade it special for us. All in all an enjoyable evening, but you're paying for the ambience--you can get much tastier sushielsewhere!! Read more
My wife and I came here right when they opened for lunch. Although it is known as a revolving sushi place, most people actually... seem to order a la carte. We only ended up picking up a few things off the I conveyor belt as there was not a very wide varietyof dishes on the belt, even an hour after opening. The view is amazing and the prices are correspondingly high but fortunatelyyou're getting more than just the view for your money. The quality of the sushi is excellent. We spent about $80 per person forlunch, and we did not order alcohol. The best value on the menu is the mini chirashi bowl which was also such a visual treatit's hard to believe it's cheaper than most of the sushi options. Read more
Four stars for the experience. The sushi quality is B-grade at best but worth the price of AYCE. Did it for the 'gram and have... no regrets. Service was also subpar. Since so many seats are side-by-side (to be able to take in the scenic view of downtownLA), I wouldn't recommend going with a large group. Read more
