Dining all'aperto is the appeal of the Los Angeles Farmer's Market, and Singapore's Banana Leaf offers it with samplings of... Singaporean, Indonesian, and Malaysian fare. The area is easily accessible to wheelchairs, baby strollers, or a large party. Thefood is a little underwhelming, so don't expect to be transported to the food stalls of Singapore with every morsel. But it'sreasonably priced, so why not? Also have cash at hand, as this seems to be the transaction of choice here and in most businessesat the Los Angeles Farmer's Market. Read more
Singapore’s Banana Leaf is inside the Original Farmer’s Market. They serve Singaporean/Indonesian/Malaysian food. I love... the food, it’s delicious. It’s comfort food for me. The food is authentic no attempt to make it American fusion, thankgoodness. My favorites on the menu is the Lodeh soup and Chicken Rendang, served on traditional banana leaves. They even haveCendol (if you know, you know)! I don’t think there is another place like this in LA so I’m lucky to have this close towhere I live. Needless to say, I happily frequent it. Read more
A good mix of Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean cooking. The Nasi Lamek and Beef Randang reminded me of the food I used to... get when I was in Malaysia. Although they did bring down the spice and flavour to suit the pallet of the local market, it surewas a good reminder of the food we expect from the authentic kitchen. Read more
I've been looking for a Malaysian place for beef rendang and Google suggested here. It's Indonesian, not Malay, and they were... out of beef rendang, so I tried the chicken rendang instead. It was good, but not what I was hoping for - also, the chickenincludes bones, it's not just meat like the beef rendang I've had back in NY. The white rice was a bit dry. Seating isfirst-come, first-serve and is on the small row of tables between vendors in the market. If it's busy, be prepared to take yourorder to go and eat it elsewhere. Read more

The food here was okay — first time trying Singapore cuisine so I wasn’t sure how to compare but I was with friends who had... Singapore food before and they chimed in. The noodles were good, overall, but not the best. It’s located in the farmers marketat the grove and the farmers market has a really cute vibe to it and the energy, ambience, and aesthetic is fantastic whichmakes the dining experience awesome. The food was okay though. Read more
