Great food and service. Decor sort of plain, very dark and depressing. Everything painted black. Like a Club Look with no... entertainment. Very little light but some on tables. Yes , sorry senor fish but your place was dark ,gloomy , devoid of atosmospher, they were out of shrimp and their octopus tasted... like rubber, took way too long for just to items to arrive. "Could have been better" certainly describes this location very well. Food quality is about the same as their other LA... locations, but the real turn-off was execution at the Echo Park. Nearly choking on a bone in the Fish Burrito was quiteexciting. The new pricing was also harder to swallow than the fishbones. Overall, the feeling was mediocre for both the serviceand the execution from the kitchen. There was just a level of disappointment that could not be rectified. I came here with my family and fiance. My aunt picked this place for dinner and I'm glad she did. The food was really good. The... atmosphere was quiet and chill for it being a Tuesday evening. I ordered their taco special. 2 tacos with a choice of two sidesand a medium drink. I picked the Al Pastor and it was sooooo delicious. Perfectly seasoned and tender. My fiance ordered theseafood loaded fries and it looked as delicious as it tasted. Everything was cooked just right. Perfect portion amount for theprice. Service was great. Let me start off by saying "Ugh", this place is a very sloppy shop. I couldn't post up this review without at least giving... Señor Fish a single star, but to be honest they don't deserve any stars at all. My review is based on two separate visits herewithin a eight day period. First Visit: My girlfriend and I went here for dinner. The young lady who helped us must have beennew and overwhelmed with having to deal with customers. This would be ok, but the place was practically dead when we ate there.She messed up our order and shorted my girlfriend a taco, we didn't complain since we felt bad for her. Food was good andfilling. Second Visit: Went to lunch with my girlfriend and her father. Young man who helped us could not substitute anythingthat I wanted to be changed or was willing to pay for, despite being able to do this the previous week with the young lady whoattended us. I didn't complain and we ordered our food. They messed up our order and gave my girlfriend fish tacos instead ofthe grilled fish she ordered. Took forever for the mistake to be fixed, and both the food or my girlfriend's dad and I was cold.Nothing worse than cold soggy tacos. When this place makes mistakes they do little to make it right, not asking for freeanything, just acknowledge your mistakes. I for one will not be earing at this location ever again. + Food can be good. + Theyserve alcoholic drinks. - Customer service is inconsistent, apathetic, and lackluster at best. If they don't mess up your oderin some way then they truly haven't done their job properly. - Location and it's ambience is nothing to rave about. The placelooks dark even in the day time and the dinning room looks like an storage room. With good management and vision this placecould be a real hit in Echo Park. - Restrooms are gross. Read more

So we went in because we were craving seafood. The restaurant looks nice and we were greeted right away. Unfortunately, they... didn't have any mojarra frita (fried fish). We asked for something else and they also didn't have it. We ended up getting tacosand my husband tried the burrito. It was good but not great. The fact that they have fish in their name and didn't have it forconsumption was a little bothersome. We did go in during lunchtime so maybe they weren't ready yet?
