Reviews for Robata JINYA - 3rd St. in Los Angeles, CA
First time here, got a pretty good tasting of their menu. The yakitori is awesome, good portions per skewer especially the pork... belly. The small sushi rolls are nice and refreshing as well. Read more
Robata JINYA is quaint Japanese restaurant that offers sushi traditional small plates and ramen. It's always been on my list of... go to- restaurants on 3rd street. Ambience is chill and cute, good for happy hours, meetings and group settings and casual datedining. We did a walk in, and didn't need to reserve but it was also a Monday! I always recommend to make reservations anywherejust so it's for sure especially if you are a a planner. Ambience and staff was friendly and knowledgeable which is always aplus! Prices were decent not to crazy so a good staple sushi place on 3rd for sure! We also ended up arriving during theirhappy hour which I believe they do daily? 2-6pm. Here are the highlights of our Ribata journey! Spicy tuna crispy sushi roll wechose the 5 piece. Spicy Tuna Handroll ordered (2) Robata-Yaki orders 2 pork belly's - it's delicious Shrimp Toast ShishitoPeppers X Wagyu Tacos La Brea Roll Definitely want to come back and taste their ramen bowls! We had a reservation but they told us we have to wait about 20-30 minutes like everyone else who walks in! What is the point of... reservation then?! Service was super slow. it took more than 20 minutes until the waiter came by and asked if we would like somewater! The food was good. It wasn't heavy. We liked the Line roll and albacore truffle. It is a loud place so definitely notgood for the first or second date but we went as a group and we enjoyed our time. The good part about slow service was we werenot rushed out. So I am giving 4 stars instead of 3. Read more

This is one of the best Izalaya in LA. I like Izakaya Hachi in Torrance but JINYA provides more exciting experience and... atmosphere while Hachi has more calm atmosphere. Unlike the interior made in accordance with the American image of Japan, thefood were authentic and satisfying. The only thing i have to warn you is that you really have to be there within 15min fromyour reservation time. We arrived 10min after the reservation time, but they cancelled it while we were waiting in line. So ifyour reservation is about to expire, i'd recommend you to cut in line lol. Read more
I've been here a couple of times and will have to say I leave here feeling satisfied. This is the perfect place if you want to... have sushi and hot food (ie ramen, fried chicken). They've been a bit inconsistency with their rolls on occasion like the limeroll. The first time we had it, it was so tasty and a different type of roll than we normally try. Though the last go aroundthere was too much pepper and the lime they added for eating was too thick which caused the sushi to be bitter and we ended uppulling it out. The ramen has been consistently good and perfect for a cold day. I like doing their special platter as you geta variety of cold to hot foods. The portion is meant to feed 4. Read more
Great Japanese food. We got the Matsu sushi platter. That was delicious. Fresh fish. I've had sushi in Japan many times and this... is comparable. Still think sushi gen in little tokyo is still better. The chicken thigh and chicken meatballs were delicious. The wings were good but too salty for my taste. My kids got the kids meal and it had a very generous portion with greatvariety!! Our server was wonderful but the receptionist that was helping was not the friendliest. We had a reservation at 6:45pand we got there 6:47 but they didn't have a table ready. And we had to wait 20-25minutes ????. And then she came over and saidthere a open but you'll have to leave by 8:15. I'm thinking seriously?? So we had to wait 25 minutes but you want us to leave in45 minutes? Just so rude. (The reason I took off a star) Parking is always a challenge in this area but if you go severalblocks theirs two hour parking available. But make sure you read those signs. Lots of no parking anytime except 8a-6p. So if youcome at night don't park there!!! Read more
Robata JINYA is my grandson, Chance's favorite restaurant. That's why we went there on his birthday. Robata JINYA is an... interesting place. It's often crowded so I recommend you make a reservation ahead of time. If you arrive between 3PM and 6PM,you can order from the happy hour menu. In addition to reasonably priced drinks, there are very reasonably priced appetizers. I shared some of the small plates that were ordered by my family. The ones I tasted were excellent. My main course was Ramennoodles in a spicy broth with chicken. The chicken, itself, wasn't particularly exciting, but the broth and thenoodles--outstanding. The food in Robota JINYA is delicious. That's why you need a reservation. I recommend Robata JINYA Read more
