Went here on a very windy and cold day but the ramen was nice and hot and warmed me right up. From such a popular place, expect... to wait at least 15 minutes but it's so worth it. Been going here for a while and will continue to do so. Read more

For years, I have passed by this joint but never ordered for I wasn?t really a fan of Japanese Ramen or sushi. Ramen of York is... a small ramen restaurant that offer rice bowls, ramen, appetizers and beverages. It is located at the corner of York blvd andAve 51 in Highland Park section of LA. Interior vibe was cool albeit less spacious and a little restricted. Furthermore, thereare no interior windows where natural light can make any space look slightly larger and less confined than it actually is. Italso seems to bring out a different, more lively look of the colors that appear on the various finishes on the surface of thefurniture, walls and floors. Front outdoor seats are available. I arrived late afternoon to grab lunch and was politely greetedby a young female staff. I requested to be seated outside. I perused their menu and decided to order a Chicken Karaage rice bowl(served with rice, avocado, spicy aioli and green onions) and Sesame mochi balls. Chicken Karaage was super fried crispy, decently flavored and warm. However, the chicken taste like pork. I concatenated the pork like flavor with visual inspection, and concluded that it was pork. Blimey! I was flabbergasted. Sesame mochi balls were warm, sweet and soft. Anyway, I continuedeating since I was famished. Staff were assiduous, amiable and followed health protocol. Service was mildly fast. Prices werereasonable for their food serving. Public parking lot and street metered parking are available. In this voluminous review, Ienjoyed their service, staff and the Sesame balls dessert more than the Karaage rice bowl. I regret consuming their ChickenKaraage rice bowl for it gave me an upset stomach. Overall, I mildly recommend this Ramen joint and definitely reconsider goingto other place. Read more

I called to order three different ramen, and they said 15 min, I came in 10, waited 5, and got my food to enjoy at home.... Everything was separated the way I asked and we had a lovely dinner. I ordered the classic, the blaze, and the shoyu. The tasteand texture of the noodles and toppings were great. The noodles were a bit stuck together - I think next time I'll have toreheat the broth again just to make sure it loosens the noodles more. This is a function of take out since when I used to eatthere in person I never had that issue. Over three ramens, the half egg was not consistent. Some yolks were more well done thanothers. I'd say only one out of three were the perfect ramen egg. Still, it's the closest ramen place that can fulfill my ramencravings and it's relatively easy for me to pick up. The noodles are vegan, which is a plus since my son has a dairy allergy. Read more

If you?re reading this review in search of your next food stop, your search is over. We ordered takeout on a weeknight and were... blown away. We ordered the blaze ramen which is mildly spicy, and the broth was thick and flavorful, with just the right amountof kick. We also ordered the chicken karaage bowl, which is deep fried chicken layered with yummy avocado, spicy aioli, greenonion and teriyaki sauce. Every bite was simply scrumptious. This will be a family takeout staple for sure. Read more
