Came here for date night. Unfortunately, an hour from closing but they still served us. They gave us our food in to-go plates... conveniently. The tea was delicious, we had the veggie platter and a side of lamb in a red sauce. Wish I took pictures and wrotedown the names of the dishes. It was delicious!!! This place is truly a hidden gem. With an easy to miss exterior, they were only serving takeout at the time of arrival, but they... accommodate us and we ate outside. The veggie platter was so good that my wife and I argued about its quality relative to thequeen Meals by Genet. The owner was so kind, he ended up selling me a bag of injira despite initially saying he didn't reallyhave enough to sell. Can't say enough about our new favorite Ethiopian lunch place (Genet isn't open for lunch, and we're neardowntown more often than Fairfax). Veggie combo is great! It includes beets, shiro, kik alicha (yellow split peas), gomen, atakilt wot, and mesir wot (red lentils)... and salad. It was $18. I ate half and packed the other half to eat later. They are not busy at all at lunch time on aWednesday. I hope more people stop by and give them some business. They are not currently allowing dining inside the restaurantbut they did allow me to sit outside where they set up a table and some chairs. They also do take-out. They're not currently allowing dine-in but it doesn't take very long for the food to be ready. We got awaze lamb tibs and the... veggie combo and it's a lot for 2 people, very good value! It was a little under $40 but we're getting 2 meals out of it. Photoshows our half eaten veggie combo. Read more
