Unsuspecting spot in a mall that has absolutely delicious food and cocktails. Sitting at the bar let us see the food being... cooked and made us even more hungry. The black karaage is perfectly crispy and juicy. The mushroom yakatori was one of our favsand we love meat. Read more

We learned of this restaurant through a puzzle in The Last Bookstore in Downtown LA. We tried the $35 special restaurant week... lunch combo which included their classic skewers, and paired it with a sake. Everything was extremely good, and the chickenskewers were one of the softest I have ever had, across cuisines! Highly recommended! Read more

Arrived at 5pm just for happy hour ??. Had a great time enjoying simple bites and a couple pre-movie beverages (we were set to... watch Easter Sunday at Alamo). Thank you to Ray, Miguel and the rest of the staff for helping make our evening memorable! Read more

Just happened to find Hatch (yakitori & bar) and super glad I did. I ended up getting the mushroom party and pee wee potato... yakitori and the corn fritters. Glad they had veggie options. The flavors were spot on hitting that umami spot. The servingswere just right, the service friendly and the food came out quickly. Overall worth a visit Read more

This modern Yakitori (Japanese grilled skewer) place is just below Sheraton Grand LA in the open air mall, the BLOC. Don’t... expect it to be like the Yakitori restaurants in Japan. The food is more modern but just as delicious. Their selectionsincluding squid ink are probably the better items on the somewhat limited menu. Service was a little below average, slow, andquality/quantity was a little shorter than what i expected. Read more

I had to find a good yakitori spot in LA and so glad I found Hatch. Fun location especially if they have seasonal decorations.... Their happy hour is from 5-7 PM and we had to take advantage of their great menu. We had the Sho nigori sake, fresh oysters, hamachi, miso pork spare ribs, and the black chicken karaage. For the skewers, we ordered the breast & plum, beef tongue, thighand green onion, eggplant & miso and the mushroom party. The karaage was delicious. Interesting because of the squid ink, butthe grilled lime, cool ranch dip and the 2 day brined chicken added some great texture. Definitely worth the hype if you canlook past the color. The ribs surprisingly for HH were perfect. Great miso caramel glaze, spice blend and the pork ribs werefall off the bone. This is a fun happy hour spot with plenty of food and drink options. Vibes were great as you can sit indoorsor outdoors to enjoy the views. Our server was perfect and our food came out really quickly. Prices are reasonable consideringthis is DTLA. My friends and I really enjoyed the wide variety of dishes here. I'll definitely be telling my friends to visitthis place when visiting LA. Read more

Upon entering Hatch, you'd like to think you walked into a upscale restaurant despite the minimal decor. To add on to the... "upscale feel", the price you pay may seem it's worth it but actually it isn't. For the same type of skewers, I can get themcheaper at Dan Sung Sa in Koreatown and those have an abundant amount of flavor compared to Hatch. Since it wasn't my decisionto dine here for a birthday dinner, I had no choice but to try a few skewers as well as some additional non-skewer dishes. If Idid have a choice, I would skip this place because it's not worth the price for what they offer. Save yourself a trip and moneyand go eat skewers elsewhere. Read more
