Food was good! The service was exceptional but my chicken piccata lacked a little more flavor

Great little spot! Met a group of friends and shared oysters and muscles as the app. Both were amazing as were our meals. I had... the baby scallop pasta special, and my husband had sea bass special. Wait staff was very attentive and on point. Even attemptedto calm a young and boisterous child who was getting pretty loud and disruptive. I think there were some occasional outburststhat followed, but the parents did their best and kids are kids and I was with good company eating a lovely meal so was overallvery happy. Also, almost left my leftovers but the waiter ran after me. Very grateful he caught it! Cool little spot, woulddefinitely recommend. Read more

Food was ok but over priced I would try to find a mom and pops operation and get more bang for your buck not only quality wise... and quantity as well Read more

Why is this place not full all the time?!?!?! I can?t believe what a almost cinematic setting! Just like a scene from any... classic movie yogi get the rat pack singing when you enter, service staff dressed to the 9?s, and great cocktails and servicethat matches it with absolute class. I had the ministry soup which was served with the complementary bread and butter which wasabsolutely delicious but for my main course I had the chicken Parmesan my friend had ravioli with shrimp another friend had thepork chop and another one of my friends had lasagna all of us ate our food so quickly it was as if our plates were brought to usempty they brought us a wonderful dessert and gave us coffee that we would drink forever if we could. Fantastic classic diningexperience with amazing dining room! Try them out for a night, bring the family! Read more

This was my first time at Frankie's. With background creds like Carmine's, a 30-year history & a rec from a friend, my... expectations were on the high side. Frankie's location on Melrose, & my reservation for 6PM Saturday had me anticipating atraffic & parking nightmare, so I was expecting to use valet. Getting there was a bit dicey, & with no valet in sight, welucked into one of the six spots in the tiny lot behind the restaurant. This may seem like much ado about nothing, but in L.A.,parking is important. Valet would be nice. Frankie's bills itself a "New York Italian restaurant" that gives you the feeling"you're dining at Frankie's home." That may be a bit of a stretch, but the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed & comfortable. Dress is casual even by L.A. standards. The dining room is on the dark side - I had to use my phone to read the old-schoolmenus we requested. I had a reservation but the dining room was almost empty at 6PM on a Saturday, so we had our pick oftables. My guest & I each ordered a glass of wine ($12) & minestrone ($10/cup) to start. (Prices on the published menu onFrankie's site are about seven years old.) The Chianti was ok, the Cab somewhat better. I wouldn't go to Frankie's for it'swine selection. The minestrone was obviously house-made and fresh, but lacked much flavor. I wouldn't get it again. We had NYsteak ($40) & the pork chop ($30). Both were very good, perfectly prepared & very generous cuts. We both had roasted vegetablemedley as sides, which we agreed was fantastic. The sauces on each entree were unique & flavorful without overpowering themeat. Our server was ready with knowledgeable recommendations & a friendly attitude. I was disappointed they did not haveconnoli available, so we tried both desserts they did have - tiramisu & bread pudding. I recommend the tiramisu which melted inour mouths, but not the bread pudding which was somewhat heavy-handed and bland. The owner, Frankie made his rounds to greet Read more
