Wish I had read reviews instead of just looking at overall rating. Didn't complain because I thought it was the same... neighborhood restaurant that's been there for decades that was falling on hard times and I felt bad for them. Saw in otherreviews that's not the case. Ordered prime rib and filet. Neither cuts of meat looked quite right. Both were overcooked. Nojus or horseradish given. My broccoli was cold in spots which makes me think it wasn't microwaved long enough. Mashed potatoeswere gluey. Service was fine. But I should have gone to Sizzlers. Could have saved a lot of money and would have had a bettermeal. Read more
Not the old Billingsley?s. No green goddess salad. Prime rib was really bad. Not sure if they?re going for a blackened rub,... which isn?t mentioned on the menu, but whatever it was made the steak inedible. Black crust that tasted like burnt chili powder.Ordered medium and it came well done and cold. My side loaded potato, also cold, came with butter, chives and cheese. No baconor sour cream. Side salad came with no dressing. When I asked for the potato toppings and dressing I waited 10 minutes and hadto ask another server to find what I had asked for. They?re still operating as a delivery ghost kitchen for multiple brands andclearly the line cooks are incapable of cooking basic steaks at the proper temperature. This is not the old Billingsleys Restaurant, it?s owned by a restaurant group called Byte to Bite. The fish tanks are gone and... the decor is less dated. They still have a full bar. The menu has a few choices in each category. We got the Roasted Artichokeand Crispy Brussels Sprouts to start. Both were very enjoyable. We got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which was great and veryfilling, we got the Three Cheese Burger with a fondue of the three cheeses, very good and very rich. The Cedar Plank Salmon wasa bit too salty and the onion relish on top was not a good compliment to the dish. We also got the New York Strip Steak whichwas perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes and broccoli were excellent. For dessert we got the brownie and it was delicious.The House Blend Wine is a good value and a very good wine. Our server was very capable and accommodating without beingintrusive. We will definitely be back. There is nowhere right now where you can see the menu online and I realize that I couldhave photographed it but I am just realizing that now. I really like this place! The food and staff are both great! I was lucky enough to live in Greece for a while a few years ago... and this is the first place in LA I found with delicious, authentic Greek food and trust me I have tried many in my search. Myfavorite is pastitsio ! Do yourself a favor and try it. I also recommend a plate of tsitziki for the table, no matter what youorder. And definitely a glass of retsina or two. The staff are great, very friendly and happy to answer questions or makesuggestions. I always find them smiling when we walk in. There is a bit of atmosphere, it's a secret place and the focus is onfood and people, not atmosphere. But I don't think that detracts from this gem of a restaurant in the slightest, in any case, itgives it away, it's charm. It's simple, but take a few friends with you, try something new and you'll have a great experience!Highly recommend! Read more
Waiter was good the food was not good glaze on prime rib and steaks not tasty ruined flavor of meat and meats not cooked how we... ordered it. Appetizer califlower too mushy. Corn chowder too many potatoes. Liquor choices not good. Will not go back. Read more
I was in the mood for a solid steak, but didn?t want to pay the ridiculous prices of many other steak joints in town. I came to... Billingsley without too much for expectation. I was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to find and quiet. I was sat andimmediately offered a drink and menu. The salad was topped with the ?green goddess? ranch dressing. It was fantastic. They alsoprovided a melted cheese on toast. Tasted great. I ended up with a ribeye and it was as good as I was hoping. The staff wasfriendly, the place was clean, and prices were in line.
