Best NY-style slice in LA. They have great sauce and unbelieve dough/crust texture & taste. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try... the square slices, but I will have to come back for that. It takes them about 45 minutes to make a whole pie, so I recommendordering ahead. Read more

I was SO excited to try this place. Crust was so hard that it wasn?t enjoyable. Your mouth will definitely hate you after... eating the Detroit style. It reminded me of a VERY hard and old Focaccia. There is a lot of holes in the pizza crust so itwasn?t very doughy or soft at all. And it?s expensive so that was a let down. $8.00 for a square. I also wasn?t a fan of theregular slices. It was at least edible and soft so that was a plus. Sauce tastes a little sour and it?s a little on the saltyside for pizza. I?m from Chicago and was really hoping this would be the spot to kick my pizza cravings. Gonna keep looking.Over all I probably won?t come back if this is how the pizza usually is. It looked amazing until I took a bite. Read more

4.2/5 Now I don't base my scores off of Papa John's or Lil Caesars. Only the greats. This I liked a lot! I damn near loved... this pizza. Sauce is an easy 4/5. Was a bit of flop just a bit though. Still had a great crunch and nice pull on the dough. 4/5.Crust and cheese were 5/5. Superb there. Overall fantastic pizza and will 100% be coming back and will bring my friends. Oh andthey got the good Cokes. *CASH ONLY* Read more

Easily some of the best pizza I?ve had! Being an east-coaster, I did not have high hopes initially. I haven?t had genuinely good... NY style pizza anywhere except NY, NJ, and PA. But this cheese slice has changed my whole perspective lol soooo good! Perfectlycrunchy, thin, yet chewy dough. The sauce seems homemade. It?s full of flavor and the gooey cheese is so yummy! I had a square?gourmet? slice as well and was so good. I had to keep myself from going right back in and buying more ???? I?ll definitely beback! Expensive though of course but that?s expected for LA at this point unfortunately. $4 per cheese slice, $5 per pepperonislice, and $7-$8 per square piece. Read more

I really wanted to like this pizza. I spent almost $50 on a pizza with six slices, that was so salty and garlicky I could barely... choke down one slice (scraping off a lot of garlic). I threw the rest away ?? Now I'm someone that definitely likes garlic, andI usually multiply the garlic in a recipe by 2-3x. Garlic on pizza is fantastic when it's whole roasted cloves, or freshlypressed. Unfortunately, this pizza appeared to have an entire jar of harsh commercially minced garlic just dumped on top of it.I'm not kidding, like a very large jar. Every slice had a giant covering of tell-tale jarred minced garlic smothered on it. Itwas also extremely oily and because they use salted hard cheese on the "real deal" plus salted pepperoni plus salted Parmesanplus salt sprinkled on top, it's so salty as to be inedible. The square pizza is also mostly cheese, with just a sad, soggy, thin layer of bread at the bottom of the ensemble with no satisfying thickness to bite through like you'd hope on a panpizza. The pictures are decieving. It's not good! The basil on top and neon signs in the store are the only reason I gave ittwo stars. The place itself as others have mentioned is not an eat-in place, it's just a takeout counter. The neon is cool!Takeout only would be fine by me if it was good! But definitely skip this place. It was inedible, and I'm not particularly pickywith pizza. Read more

Being from the East Coast (Philly). It's been incredibly hard to find a decent pie in my 14 years of living out here. I have... come across a few gems in between. But only a few... Others just get the job done... Not sure how I missed Dave's review onthis back in February! But when I stumbled across it the other night, and he mentioned the hours and how it was cash only. Iknew it was going to special! And man! It did not disappoint!!! This is the diamond in the rough I have been looking for! I amnot a square Pizza guy, but woah! I was blown away by the Spicy Vodka Detroit Hybrid Style!!! And the 20" Large was the icing onthe cake. Hands down the best spot in LA and possibly all of CA :) They do it proper! Shout out to the staff who wereincredibly genuine and real. Felt like home :) The Vibe in there with other customers, while eating was something special aswell. It just had an East Coast Vibe! Nothing but love! I nearly ate all of that! On top of a margherita slice that a dopecustomer shared with me from his pie! 8.9 in my book! FANTASTIC!!! Read more

Amazing taste. Kind of salty but the crust and everything is just perfection. I would say they need to improve their operation... efficiency since now everyone wants to try their delicious pizzas with million orders. Order time and baking time should improveoverall. However, the guys at the oven are working hard and they are nice to everyone. Read more

I watched a video about Apollonia?s Pizzeria one or two weeks ago. I was in Los Angeles yesterday, and I thought it was time for... me to try their pizza. I got there not that long after they opened. I ordered one plain slice and one pepperoni slice. Theowners were friendly, and everything was ready in 10 minutes. The location: It is located in a small strip shopping center onWilshire Boulevard at South Sycamore Avenue. There is construction going on due to the Metro expansion, so one side of theparking lot was blocked off. They take cash only. Also, there is no where to sit inside. This is strictly take out. ThePizza: Both slices were extremely flavorful, and there is no place I have found in Los Angeles that has a crust as crisp as thispizzeria. The slices were very big! Even after eating two slices, I was seriously tempted to go back and get another slice. Itreminded me of the pizzerias on the East Coast. The undercarriage of each slice was well-done without me ever sayinganything. The parking situation near there is not the greatest right now, but the pizza was so good that it is worth a returntrip.
