What a good find 9th Street Ramen was. It’s really not easy to open a #ramen restaurant in Los Angeles and especially Downtown... and stand out since Little Tokyo is part of #DTLA. But 9th St Ramen holds its own. I ordered the #chicken katsu steam bun as astarter and it was surprisingly #delicious. The chicken was nicely cooked…it had some crunch to it and the bun was so soft.For my main dish, I ordered the Spicy #miso #tonkotsu with an egg. The broth was creamy and flavorful. It could have used alittle bit more #spice to make it really spicy but what I got was delicious. You have a choice of thick or thin #noodles withcome out slightly al dente. The #pork was tender with good flavors. It also had #mushrooms which I really enjoyed. They alsoserve #wine, #sake and #beer. Their wine leans on the natural side but it’s a decent list. Been going to this place for awhile and I gotta say they’re my favorite ramen in dtla. maybe ever. The service is always... really good and they have a very unique and futuristic vibe. Was told by our server that the ramen is made from scratch - thenoodles being their own recipe and the broth being a 48 hour process. love love love this place. Have to try the Tonkatsu porkramen and their karrage chicken. They also have a variety of natural wine and a unique sake selection. Read more
Incredible Ramen here, on par with the LA greats. However, I’ve never had Ramen that has kept so well once it’s left the... restaurant, not from Shin-Sen-Gumi, Tatsu, even Daikokuya. This is the Ramen of a true master. Creamy, unparalleled pork love.Will absolutely be going again. The Karaage, also a true test of a good Ramen place, was the best I’ve had in a long time. Read more
