Reviews for The Grumpy Rabbit in Lonoke, AK
First timer... heard the food was amazing, so we drove from Little Rock to Lonoke just for this. So, here we go... First -... Service was *fantastic*!!! Second - Food... well, some of it was amazing and other parts were just kind of... well... notsubpar, but not that great either. I had the Reuben and the meat was rather tough and chewy (the meat is like a pulled porkrather than the usual sliced meat). Other than that, the flavor was fantastic. The fries were great! My wife had theimpossible burger and said it was amazing. Several family members had other dishes and said they were all great. We orderedthe (I think it was pea hummis)... it was absolutely bland at best (admittedly, I'm not a hummis guy)... the "mashed tatertots" were pretty darn good. All in all, it was great but not worth making it a regular destination with the distance. Read more
I can not say enough great things about this establishment. I'm just gonna say it is a mood, especially after dark. First off,... the restoration, use of space, and division of this place is very very well done. The hostess could use a little more room forpeople when they walk in awaiting to be seated but space restraints are what they are. The food is FANTASTIC. It is all wellproportioned with high quality ingredients and well worth the larger city price. The staff are amazing and you can tell theylike what they do. The decor is very pleasing and the choices for seating areas are phenomenal. The outdoor-upstairs anddownstairs- balcony eating areas would be a great place for a wedding rehearsal dinner with plenty of places for some swoonworthy photography or even senior pics (check out those staircases). If you haven't checked out the Grumpy Rabbit, you aremissing out. I promise if you enter feeling hangry or GRUMPY, you won't be when you leave! Read more
WELL WORTH the stop, that is approximately 2.5 miles south of the interstate, the service is fast, friendly and efficient. The... menu we were given, seemed a bit limited but the food was delicious! They also have a drink menu. This modern twist on history, offers an array of colors that make for a delightful meal and a hip environment in this muti-level building with dining on allthree levels. Ok so I saw a segment on Arkansas Eats about this place that’s about an hour away from me. It highlighted some of dishes that... were unique to this place. I checked out their website and the food looked mouth watering. I heard about their orange sodacollard greens and knew that one day I would have to try them. Also, the fact that it is located in an old, historic, downtownbuilding really appealed to me. Ok so maybe I went at an off time or an odd day because the first thing I was underwhelmed bywas the interior of the building. There was one other patron there. The rest of the place was empty. I was expecting to feel asense of nostalgia upon entering the 100+ year old building but instead felt like the meat and bones of antique architecture wasmissing. I was expecting to walk inside and feel the awe and admiration you feel when you walk into one of those old, centuryold homes that still have all the original wood trim around the doors and windows, transom windows above every door, originalwood floors etc. Like you are viewing a preserved piece of history but instead I felt disappointed with the modern fish tank andtables and yes, I realize this has nothing to do with the food but my experience as a whole would have been upgraded if I hadbeen wowed with the vintage interior I was anticipating. Not into the food. There isn’t a lot to choose from on the lunchmenu but I wanted something light anyway so I ordered the Reuben sandwich and paid the $2 upgrade for the orange soda greens, apremium side that would cost $7 by itself. Upon arrival, I remember thinking how dark the greens looked. I’m no greens expertas I’ve only tried to cook them once myself and they turned out ok but I have had some really good greens so I know what Ilike. I like greens that are tender and have a rich, buttery, bacony( I know that’s not a word) flavor and they almost melt inyour mouth. The greens from grouchy rabbit were nothing like that. I ate 2 bites and was done. As I said, Read more
Cool and stylish venue. We saw a billboard on our road trip and stopped for brunch. Wasn’t very impressed with my entree. I... got the eggs Benedict and it was just not it. Could use chives topped on it and less sauce. My family members liked theirentrees though. Large clean family friendly bathrooms were a bonus. Read more
Wow so delicious! The pita bread with black bean hummus, YUM! The chicken w salad was very good! The fried chicken was very very... good. My husband said it had been years since he had a decent piece of chicken. Green beans, fresh and delicious! I did not trythe mashed potatoes because the black bean hummus had my full attention.
