Reviews for Swaylo’s Tiki Restaurant and Bar in Longmont, CO
We decided to finally try Swaylo\'s Tiki recently and it was a great experience. We ordered two of their specialty drinks, the... Zombie and Swaylos Punch, both were super good and came in awesome mugs.\n\nFor appetizers we went with the Warm Hawaiian Rolls,Ahi Poke Wontons and the Spam Musubi. The rolls were perfectly flaking and warm and the honey butter was delicious melted ontop. The Ahi Poke Wontons were my wives favorite and it was incredible how all the flavors tied together beautifully. Finally, the Spam Musubi was my absolute favorite. I almost ordered another round, they were delicious!\n\nAs for our main courses, weordered the Luau Chicken and their Shoyu Ramen. The coconut-turmeric luau sauce served with the dish was so flavorful andexcellently seasoned. Their Shoyu Ramen was also very good! I would highly recommend it.\n\nOverall, everything we ordered wasreally good and I would recommend all of it! The only reason I gave a 4 star was due to our very slow service with how slow itwas when we were there. Other than that, I would highly recommend Swaylo\'s to anyone looking for amazing food! Oh wow! My husband and I stopped here on a whim and were blown away - the atmosphere, service and food were fantastic! We had... the mango shrimp appetizer (amazing), the filet mignon (incredible) and the ribs (okay) along with some fun themed drinks. It\'sdefinitely a dark interior but we felt it added to the fun. We will definitely be back! ???????? Read more
This is the second time we have driven down to enjoy this dark and mysterious tiki restaurant. Our server was fun and... knowledgeable. We have sampled many items from both the libations and food selections and have found some good favorites inboth. Recommend you ask to see the desert list first so you can save room to enjoy some of those as well. We will certainly becoming back again! Read more
Let me start out by saying that almost every dish was flavorful and very good. The exception for me was the Hawaiian Rice. I... found it to be quite mushy for my taste. The patio is a great addition, as the inside of the establishment is very dark, it\'sprobably amazing in the winter, but reminded me a bit of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney (which is not necessarily abad thing depending on your mood). The reason for four stars - our service was really not great. I feel that the food is quitegood, but like the other establishments which are owned by this group, are a bit overpriced when you start adding proteins tothe base dish. However knowing that, I would expect to have top-notch service for the premium menu prices and that was certainlynot the case. Our server was good, but clearly overworked and the kitchen was obviously backed up. I also had to wait about 20minutes before I got my tiki drink, and our appetizer came out with our meal which was slightly disappointing. Outside of that,I highly recommend the mango shrimp (hands down the best thing on their menu), the luau chicken and the ramen. Great, funaddition for Longmont if you don\'t mind almost doubling the cost of your entree to add a protein. Read more
Was out in Longmont Colorado for a week of work and found this place near my hotel.\nWhat a hidden GEM!!!\n\nWandered down the... road from my hotel, expecting a cheesy family themed place, but discovered a remote island getaway in the foothills ofColorado.\n\nMade my way to a perfectly positioned bar with a spacious countertop and friendly Hawaiian shirt themedbartenders.\n\nI was still cautious but taking in the lovely tacky tiki motifs scattered across the entire place. As I finallygot situated, I ordered my first drink, the VanillaKilla and it set the mood before my first sip. They didn\'t skimp on flavor, alcohol nor presentation. Winner across the board!\n\nMy second drink, Swaylos Punch, was paired with my fried calimari stripsentree which was amazing. Light crispy and flavorful. Yummmmy. And don\'t get me started on the punch... It was literally onfire... And they burned a little cinnamon on top for a bit more olfactory aroma love. So good so fun.\n\nMy entree was the AhiPoke bowl and it was perfection. Massive portions of ahi tuna with some of the most select ingredients I\'ve experienced in awhile. I could not believe I was enjoying such select seafood in the Midwest!\n\nA great dinner always inspires me to at leasttry the dessert.. so glad I did!\nRum Cake paired with a Captains Daiquiri and my night was blissfully complete!\n\nThebartenders were amazing, their recommendations were truly appreciated and I look forward to my next work trip to LongmontColorado!
