Reviews for Georgia's Restaurant in Long Beach, CA
Southern Soul - California Style! Enjoyed eating some very tasteful, delicious, fresh and well-seasoned Soul Food @ Georgia's... Restaurant located in Long Beach LBX. The variety and selection of entrees, sides, dessert and gumbo was very helpful, appealingand delicious. In terms of seating, you have the option to eat either indoors or on the covered patio area, which we enjoyed. The service was very good and both the waitstaff and manager made sure to check on you throughout your dinning experience. Ienjoyed fresh fried Catfish, Collard Greens and Black Eye Peas.; along with some Fried Green Tomatoes- A Georgia Classic Item. Iwill most certainly return back to Georgia's Restaurant again, I have to try the Gumbo! Read more
So I ran into this restaurant on accident because there was some event happening in this shopping center that took up all... parking spots this past Sunday. I finally got a parking spot in front of this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. Thisis a Southern/Soul Food restaurant and I got EXCITED that they had Blackened Catfish, which is something I can't find aroundSoCal anymore. The Blackened Catfish paired with grits was fantastic (see photo). My son had the shrimp Po'Boy sandwich and hewants to go back for it again later. Looking forward to coming back to try more things over here. Read more
Coming from the south my expectation of soyl food is high. I got the chicken and waffles with sweet tea. It was probably the... worst version of this meal ive ever had. The waffles were dry. Though the chicken was "fried" it seemed it was just the cornmeal breading. The chicken underneath was flavorless. The chicken skin had a boiled gummy texture. Over all this place wasextremely disappointing. Read more

The blackened catfish was DELICIOUS. Nice and flaky. Full of flavor. The black eyed peas delicious!! The Shrinp Po'boy was full... of nice crispy pieces of fried shrimp. The slaw on the sandwich was nice and tangy. Would absolutely go there again and again. Read more
nice place with delicious food and kind staff. kinda small. they have indoor seating and outdoor which is covered and has... heating lamps. there is a fence around outdoor dining which I appreciate because sometimes pedestrians get close to outdoordiners. there was a decent amount of customers, but the staff moved quickly and we didn't have a problem seating ourselves. wewent on Sunday. they gave complimentary cornbread muffins and honey butter. they were a little dense for my liking, but tasty. Ihad the gumbo(very tasty roux and they give you a lot!), the chicken wings(fried perfectly!). we had bottomless mimosas which isserved during brunch hours on Saturday and Sunday 9a - 2p. the sweet potato pie is ok. i won't order again. we then returned onMonday. i had the smothered pork chops(they were soo good!), the yams(watery, but had a nice taste), the baked beans(I don'trecommend. they were cooked nicely, but the flavor was kinda vinegary). my sangria and pound cake was delicious too. I tried thecatfish and collard greens the other person had. absolutely amazing????????! the greens were not bitter; super savory. thecatfish was fried perfectly; not oily or watery at all. I highly recommend this black-owned place and will be visiting again! Read more
This restaurant is suppose to be soul food but it?s everything but!!!! I ordered the peach cobbler and I swear the peaches are... frozen. I ordered a là mode. Now anytime I ordered a là mode the cobbler is warm to melt the ice cream. This cobbler is cold, looks like they buy it from some where but they advertise everything as home made. This was my second experience, neveragain!!!!! The fried green tomatoes are a southern staple but this place ???? no thank you. Now I gotta give credit where it?sdue. I tried the chicken sandwich and it was good. But yea I?m cool, cost too much to waste my money???? Read more
Very nice choices of southern style food. I had the shrimp and grits with cheese, which was my first time trying with cheese... mixed in. Was a nice addition, and thickened up the texture of the grits. The kids enjoyed their spicy chicken, and chicken andwaffle as well. The gumbo was ok. We have had better elsewhere, but not had. Just wouldn't order it here again. Overall greatfood. On the pricier side, but the quality is there. Read more
