I was a customer once . I saw the new franchise at its finest. It had a free ice cream machine mixed soda drinks and dollar... beer. My fiancee liked the sandwiches and lil sandwiches with his beer. I liked the free ice cream and soda mix fountain. Theytook away all of these and replaced it with a limit on condiments and disrespected us as customer s ,After my fiance died fromcovid I decided to go back. To my surprise they had a new owner and better service. They don't always have certain meats. I goonce in a while but I long for what they used to do for the customer.i am craving brisket today. Brisket and burnt ends are solid turkey is so-so, jalapeno beans left something to be desired coleslaw is legit mac and cheese... was decent the rolls were pretty good and potato salad was meh at best. I'd encourage eating in or eating locally,I myself wasabout 15 mins away and by the time I got back with all of this food it was no longer hot not quite cold but headed in thatdirection unfortunately. On 5/14/22, went to this location for a 3 item plate. Double chicken and a helping of brisket. One employee reminded the other I... should have double chicken but when I got home, 1 helping of chicken and 2 helpings of brisket. When I went back to havecorrected, employees told me that they knowingly gave me more brisket because they were out of chicken. I informed them it isvery disrespectful to just make up a customer?s order if you don?t have what was ordered. It is also deceitful. Aftercomplaining, I was then told they had the chicken that they failed to give me in the 1st place.At this point, I asked for arefund and the employee told me he can?t give a refund. Now I?m stuck with the food after they lied, tried to deceive me andrefused to refund (stating I don?t know how). I did take out because COVID, but the food was pretty good. Just keep in mind you're not actually in the south. The ribs were... really good, but I ordered a full rack and what I got didn't seem like a full rack (8 or 9 ribs). The brisket was better thanother Dickey's locations. It was juicy, tender, and we'll seasoned. The cole slaw was OK and the beans were pretty good.Overall I'd go back if I felt like BBQ and was stuck in Downtown Long Beach (long story....). Read more

I would say the pulled pork is their signature dish. The restaurant has a special for everyday of the week, except for Sunday.... On Sunday you can order any of the daily specials. The place is clean, the staff is super friendly and the food is decent. Iwouldn?t say their food is for daily consumption because all specials are over $10, but this place is good when you want to getout of the ordinary sandwiches that dominate downtown Long Beach. Welcome to the neighborhood Dickey's BBQ . First time to this location and enjoyed it. Ordered online...got there 5 mins after... scheduled time for pick up, but my order wasn't ready for another 5 mins. I wasn't in a hurry and understand it's an estimatedtime so I waited happily. The customer service at handoff was superb. She explained everything that was in the bag and offeredme to take more sauce, if need be, from the sauce bar. The organization of the contents was awesome. No spills and everything Iordered was there. I ordered the westerner with pulled pork and jalapeno cheese sausage. It was delicious. Whether it was theoriginal or sweet, they both tasted great on my sandwich. The mac and cheese was tasty but the creamed spinach was bland. Addeda little salt and pepper and it woke it up! Overall...it was a great dinner and experience. Service was excellent, speed ofservice will only get better. Nice clean restaurant. The food was yummy and really hit the spot.
