We decided to drive 2.5hrs to try this authentic Hungarian restaurant that we found on IG. All I can say is, it was well worth... the drive! We walked in and we were instantly greeted with a smile and an amazing woman named Dani. She had giving us the optionof seating in a private romantic nook that made it feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were blown away withthe decor and smells from the kitchen. Our host Dani made us feel like family. She was personable and an absolute pleasure. Overall the experience was way better then I anticipated! We will definitely be back!! Read more
I really enjoyed my dining experience. Dorothy was an efficient, friendly and competent server. I had the goulash soup and the... Hungarian platter. Both excellent. The platter is an excellent choice because I enjoy all the items on the menu and thisallowed me to have almost all of them.If I'm ever in this area again I will definitely be back. Dining for two on a quiet Saturday night… could only see 3, maybe 4 tables seated. Our server was pleasant and quickly took... our drinks order. Shortly thereafter our appetizer (soup for she and salad for me) and entrees (dinner specials 2x) were placed.After about 20 minutes, with no other interaction with the server our entrees arrived along with my wife’s soup (clearly theappetizer didn’t come out first) and my salad was not delivered. We asked for water, as our cocktails and beer were empty; shenever asked if we wanted another round. The food was ok; as it was my first time, my expectations were low - my wife has dinedhere on several occasions - she found the meal woefully lacking in presentation and taste. With our empty plates on the tablethe server asked if we wanted anything else… trying to close the bill before offering any dessert (included in the prix fixemeal) or coffees. We shared a crepe that was clearly pre-made and somehow served cold. In the end, the food was lacking and theservice from the newbie server and the never present manager was not up to par. The cabbage soup and espressos are the onlyreason for the two-star rating! Not good value for the money spent. Read more
We shared a wonderful dining experience! Food was traditional Hungarian dishes! Schnitzel both pork and chicken were more than... we could eat. Platters were excellent presentation and again lots on them. Service was great and dishes came out in a timelymanner. Finished with one apricot, and strawberry crepe. Budapest Restaurant in London was my first true initiation into the world of traditional Hungarian cuisine and it was a great... first experience! My wife and I enjoyed our date night immensely. We had a chicken schnitzel sandwich, perogies, beefstroganoff, and a strawberry crepe to finish it off. The food was delicious, the service great, and the atmosphere excellent.
