I had my first ever bowl of authentic ramen at this place! I've always wanted to try ramen (not the instant packet ones), but... actual homemade ramen. This place serves vegan and vegetarian ramen, so we got that. I've never had ramen b4, so I don't haveanything to compare it to, but it was pretty okay! Very wholesome, warm, and hearty -perfect to have on a cold winter night. Theportions are really big- we were 2 people, should've only gotten one and shared. You can always tell how good a ramen is by their broth. I tried their staple ramen called Kitakata ramen and it was pretty... good. My wife tried the spicy miso and that was also good. This a great place to try if you?re in the area and looking for somegood ramen. The customer service was really good although that?s how I feel when I am at Japanese restaurants. They just caremore. Delicious ramen options! Ramen was served piping hot and flavorful. You can ask for the chili oil on the side so you can add... as desire. Portions were huge. Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai is tucked away in a strip mall in Lombard. This is a genuine authentic ramen shop. All flavors and... preparations are exactly like you would get if you visited a ramen shop in Japan. All ramen broth and gyoza are pork based butfor those that don?t eat pork there is the vegetarian ramen featuring miso base which is very good! We had spicy edamameappetizer which was perfectly seasoned. The vegetarian miso ramen bowl was delicious. The ramen noodles are made fresh every dayand were surprisingly light in texture and flavorful with all fresh vegetables. The fried chicken was amazing served with aunique peanut sauce on top a bed of rice. Everything was very well prepared and appetizing. The staff was super friendly. Therestaurant was very clean and tidy. The condiments on the table were chili oil, seasoning and Japanese soy sauce which are allworth trying depending on what you order. I really wanted to rate this 5 stars as it is arguably, the best ramen option in the western suburbs (taste wise) but after... waiting 45 mins to place our order for 3 bowls of ramen and gyoza, I?m not sure I will be back anytime soon. The total billwith tip was almost $90. And even though it?s the same chain, the one up North (Hoffman Estates) still tastes better. But, thebroth is still very good and the noodles are definitely legit - very chewy and tastes homemade. Suggestion: Install mobileordering at the table so we don't have to wait 45 mins to simply order ramen. Read more
