Reviews for Buckram Stables Cafe in Locust Valley, NY
The ?reservations? in this place were basically thrown to the wayside. The servers were inattentive, neglectful, and blatently... couldnt care less. The food was barely edible.. the english muffins that the burgers were served on were rock hard- a knifecouldnt even cut through it, and their ?famous waffle fries? were straight out of a frozen fry bag. This was one of the worstdining experiences we have ever had. Read more
Used to come here all the time. Then recently, they tried to pass off a whole breadcrumbed flounder as fish and chips. ... Additionally, they didn't cook it through which was undercooked. On top of saying something, the waitress had the audacity totell me it was "fish and chips" but it was "their way" and it was cooked right. If that was the case, next time you eat it. Next, they offered me something different just to come back 25 minutes later saying they overlooked my order and it was neverplaced. Seems a bit odd, that it took that long to realize salad with chicken cutlet was taking this long. A waitress who wasbragging she was there for 28 years certainly should have realized something was wrong!!!! Oh and btw, I definitely won't beback. Read more
We needed a place to eat with our two little kids before we went to a fair and Buckram came up in our search. The service was... great, the food was good (the waffle fries are delicious!), and it is kid-friendly. We enjoyed our lunch! Read more
I am not sure which owner we met Bill or Jim this past Thursday night the September 23rd, but they could not have been... friendlier. One thing I do know about are restaurants. I?ve been eating out for over fifty years. I?ve eaten at the fancyand not so fancy restaurants in the tristate area. New York has some of the best restaurants in the world. Well, I will putBuckram Stables Café up against the best of them. The food may not have fancy sauces but it is the freshest! When you enterthe restaurant you are met with warmth. I found out that some of the staff at the restaurant have worked there for over 25years. Those are people dedicated to the restaurant providing excellent service and food. I had Mahi- Mahi over vegetablerice with mango sauce on top. The fish was cooked to perfection. I kept on saying this does not taste like fish. It justtasted so good. When my wife heard me say this, she started saying how her Buckram burger was so good and the salad with itwas so fresh. Then my son who is a picky eater said my chicken kabab teriyaki is so tasty. Amazing to get three awesomedishes We had deserts too and they were great too. So besides the friendly and great service and great food, they areflexible on preparing the food for you too. If you want something made a certain way, they will try to do it for you. Thistells me the food is fresh. Last the prices are reasonable too. Read more
This is my go to place for twelve years. Yesterday , was not good . I ordered oven roasted Turkey Sandwich . Friend had Reuben.... There was barely any meat in both. Disappointed. I got two thin slices of Turkey on 12 grain bread, a sliver of lettuce, twosliced thick tomatoes which I usually don?t eat and a sliver of bacon . Ordered onion rings which server said was a slightadditional charge . Friends also ordered onion rings. $18. I ordered a Diet Coke , he ordered a tap beer. Total with 20% tip (and that was generous) and the total for lunch was $75. Might have to find a new place . Of course Pam who is my favorite serverwas off. The onion rings are the best . Read more
Extremely disappointed. We were gifted a gift certificate to Buckrams but because it was over a year since the date of issue... (due to Covid and life events) they would not honor the gift certificate. Maybe it's just me, but if money exchanged hands youhave a duty to honor that. I could see not honoring a coupon but this was cash they now took from the gifter. The food wasmediocre and a policy like this will not have us coming back! Read more
Typical American food, sandwiches, burgers, omelette, salads. It?s good and worth to go if you like this kind of food. It looked... fresh and nicely cooked. Inside is comfortable and welcoming, gives you the vibe of a family run restaurant. The service is goodand fast, the waitress was all smile and very helpful. I?d recommend to go here if you?re in a mood for regular tasty Americanfood. Read more
