I had a great time playing this course. Fun yet challenging as well. Best to play this course with someone that knows it.

Challenging course. Moderately maintained. Dated clubhouse (and staff). The dude at the clubhouse is a grumpy old man who must... think he's God's gift to golf. Read more

I did not like this course, it was very hard to tell what was fairway and what was rough. The cart paths do not connect... throughout the course so it can be confusing where to go next on some holes. Lots of very steep hills and very deep rough, mygroup got frustrated and stopped keeping score by the 4th hole. Read more

Course was in great condition. It's a real test of your skills. If you want to know how good you are, play it. Awesome bar also.... A Chicago staple of a course. Read more

Terrible. Will never go back. Not maintained and ranger SpongeBob (that guy can kick rocks) was on us all day for our pace of... play. Mind you that there was never a group waiting behind us. I would rather play in Alaska with a speedo on than play hereagain. Read more

Man I love this place, could be taking care of a bit more but for the price it's pretty amazing. I don't think there's a course... around here that gives you the undulation that this place does, very challenging. Read more

The greens are in decent condition, but very slow. The fairways are filled with bare spots abundant. But the biggest problem is... pace of play. No ranger to move slow groups along. And even though we were playing at a snail's pace on the front nine, themanagement decided to send not one, but TWO groups in front of us on the back nine! 6 hour rounds of golf are never fun. Won'tbe coming back anytime soon. Read more

It is a beautiful and challenging designed course. Unfortunately the condition was lacking when my foursome played. The $60 fee... isn't justified based on the course condition. If it was well maintained they could easily charge $80 - $100 per round. Thepro apparently doesn't read posted reviews because I recently heard him say the Big Run was in great shape while he was atanother course in the area. You have to acknowledge aproblem before you can correct it. I hope the course survives and doesn'tfall victim to housing development. Read more
